From design to finished product!

Fresh Artists intern and recent high school graduate Riese got hands-on experience with professional production technology, learning to operate a SUMMA cutting machine alongside Executive Director, Roger. Together, they turned the newly designed Wrap Lab logo into precision-cut stickers!

It's more than making stickers, it's giving young creatives the opportunity to learn industry skills, explore new technology, and see their creative work come to life. A perfect example of hands-on learning and the kind of real-world experience that helps prepare the next generation of makers and designers.

Wrap Lap 2026 • Day 5

What an incredible way to end an unforgettable week!

The day began with our students observing and practicing the art of vehicle wrapping on Roger's car, strengthening the techniques they had developed throughout the week while learning how to work with the curves and contours of a three-dimensional surface. It was amazing to see how quickly they adapted, approaching each challenge with growing confidence, precision, and teamwork.

Then came their biggest project yet: fully wrapping a Honda Fit! Working together, the students carefully installed their vinyl, demonstrating patience, problem-solving, and an impressive attention to detail. Watching the original artwork transform an entire vehicle was a fitting finale to an incredible week.

As Wrap Lab 2026 comes to a close, we are so grateful to our student artists for the time, creativity, energy, and care they brought to every step of the process. From designing repeat patterns and producing wrapping paper to installing vinyl on Community Fridges and a vehicle, they embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.

We couldn't be prouder of all they accomplished this week and can't wait to see where their creativity takes them next.

Day 4 of Wrap Lab 2026 challenged our students to take their skills to the next level.

The morning began with the artists completing additional installations in the Fresh Artists Outdoor Gallery alongside professional graphics installer Ken, continuing to refine the techniques they've practiced throughout the week.

Next, Co-Founder and Executive Director Roger introduced the students to another essential step in the production process: laminating custom-printed 3M IJ180 vinyl on our D&K Expressions 65T Laminator. Through a hands-on demonstration, he walked them through how the laminator protects printed graphics and prepares them for long-lasting installations.

With those new skills in mind, it was time for the day's biggest challenge. After watching Ken demonstrate the process, the students learned how Community Fridges are transformed through vinyl wrapping, and why these colorful installations matter to the neighborhoods they serve. Each artist then wrapped half of a Community Fridge using their own custom-designed pattern, applying vinyl to a three-dimensional surface for the very first time.

Working around corners, edges, and curves introduced a new set of challenges, but every student approached the task with patience, determination, and an impressive eye for detail. Watching their confidence grow with each new projects has been one of the highlights of this week.

We couldn't be prouder of the creativity, perseverance, and craftsmanship these young artists have demonstrated throughout Wrap Lab 2026.

Tomorrow marks the final day of the program, and the students will take on their biggest wrap yet: a Honda Fit! Stay tuned as they put everything they've learned this week into action for one final transformation.

Day 3 of Wrap Lab 2026 was all about precision, patience, and bringing more designs to life!

The day began outside the Fresh Artists studio where our Wrap Lab artists put their growing vinyl installation skills to work by wrapping the studio's outdoor gallery. From there, they took to fully wrap one of the walls inside our ColLab studio.

Throughout the day, each student demonstrated incredible focus, attention to detail, and patience as they carefully applied custom-designed vinyl. While taking turns on the studio wall, the girls also continued creating their surface design collections and exploring even more creative possibilities.

To wrap up the day, Fresh Artists Co-Founder and Executive Director, Roger, gave the students a behind-the-scenes demonstration of the print production process, showing them how the official Wrap Lab logo is printed and produced on dibond before being installed on the newly wrapped studio wall.

Every day, these young artists are gaining new technical skills, creative confidence, and firsthand experience with the many possibilities of careers in print production and graphic installation.

Tomorrow, they'll take their work beyond the studio as they transform Community Fridges with their own custom vinyl designs. Stay tuned to see their artwork make an impact in the community. We can't wait to share what they wrap next!

Day 2 of Wrap Lab 2026 brought every artist one step closer to seeing their ideas come to life!

After finalizing their repeat pattern designs, each student's artwork was scanned, digitized, and transformed into custom wrapping paper and vinyl wrap. Watching their original designs become professionally printed on our Canon Colorado printer and cut using our Summa S1 and Colex SharpCut cutters was an exciting milestone, and just the beginning.

To celebrate, each student received a set of professional vinyl wrapping tools to keep after completing the program. Their gifts were thoughtfully wrapped in their very own custom-designed wrapping paper. It was then time to put those tools to work!

With guidance from professional graphics installer Ken, students learned the fundamentals of working with vinyl wrap, practicing techniques on test strips of their own designs before applying them to the walls of the Fresh Artists studio. His expertise, patience, and mentorship are giving these young artists invaluable hands-on experience and confidence as they explore a growing creative industry.

Stay tuned all week to follow their journey and see what we wrap next!

Wrap Lab 2026 has officially begun!

Today, six talented high school artists kicked off this week's creative journey by diving into the history of wallpaper and exploring the art of repeat patterns. From learning how patterns have transformed spaces throughout history to designing and producing their own original artwork, students began building the foundation for their very own surface design collections.

We are already amazed by the creativity, curiosity, and imagination seen in today's production!

Next, students will digitize their designs and bring their patterns to life as professionally printed wrapping paper and vinyl wraps. They will gain hands-on experience with the tools and processes used in today's creative industries.

We can't wait to see where their ideas take them throughout the rest of Wrap Lab 2026!
