We learn something new every day!

Yesterday was an important day in Pennsylvania's Masonic calendar - St. John's Day, when new Masonic leadership is installed. The portrait of St. John the Evangelist that decorates Renaissance Hall's west wall in The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia was requested by RWPGM George W. Kendrick, Jr., Mitchell Lodge No. 296 and Washington Lodge No. 59, Philadelphia.

At our stated meeting last night, the members present voted to accept the new bylaws of Mitchell Lodge No. 81, formed by the coming merger of Hiram Lodge No. 81 and Mitchell Lodge No. 296. The new Lodge will meet for the first time at its Jan. stated meeting in Chestnut Hill, Pa. The mergerwill be finalized at the December Communication of the Grand Lodge of Pa.

Subject: Howard Pressman Funeral


Brethren,

The graveside funeral for Brother Howard L. Pressman will take place this Wednesday, August 5 at Shalom Memorial Park at 1:00PM. Please start gathering at 12:15PM since a large number of people are expected to attend. There will be a Masonic service promptly at 1:00PM which will immediately be followed by the “regular” funeral.

The actual address of Shalom Memorial Park is 25 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006 but the entrance I use is on the East side of Pine Road just north of Byberry Road.

Please send this announcement to the members of your Lodges, both by email as well as Call-Em-All, and do your best to attend to honor this exceptional man and Brother.

Brethren it is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of brother Russ Horrocks, PM. Brother Horrocks was a two time Master and very active in the lodge during the 80's and 90's. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Until we meet again our Brother!
