Rene Lima-Marin was 20 years old when he robbed two video stores at gunpoint in Aurora, Colorado. A judge sentenced him to 98 years in prison, one after another, with no possibility of them running concurrently.

Something went wrong in the paperwork. In 2008, a court employee recorded his sentences as concurrent instead of consecutive, and the system let him out 90 years earlier than he was supposed to be released. No one noticed for nearly six years. Rene found work as a glazier, bought a house, married Jasmine, and started a family with two children.

In 2014, someone reviewed the file and discovered the error. They sent him back to prison to serve the remainder of a sentence he had already begun to put behind him. His case ended up before an Arapahoe County judge, who decided in 2017 that time had already done its part.

Olivia is 22 years old, has a college degree under her belt, and has already worked at two restaurants. Even so, she couldn’t land even a waitress position.

Her TikTok video, viewed by more than 200,000 people, exposed something thousands experience in silence: companies rejecting candidates for “being overqualified” for minimum-wage roles. In the comments, other graduates and even people with master’s degrees shared the same nightmare. Some confessed to an extreme solution: removing their degree from their résumé or applying under a different name, just to be considered.

Meanwhile, another strategy circulating on Reddit actually works: staying silent for 30 seconds when you’re offered a low salary. One applicant got an extra $12,000 and a bonus simply by saying nothing. The 2026 job market rewards silence over effort, and that says a lot about where the world is headed.

“He wasn’t going to leave this world without taking one last puff”.

A video filmed in a Russian hospital showed Vladimir, a 34-year-old man who arrived as an emergency case because of a knife lodged in his back. The medical team immediately prepared the operating room so they could take him into surgery and remove the object that was putting his life at risk, but he had other plans.
Inside the operating room, he whispered the word “smoke” and did something so crazy that, had it not been recorded, no one would believe it.

Richard Klinkhamer wrote crime novels in a Dutch village called Hongerige Wolf. In 1991, his wife, Hannelore ""Hanny"" Godfrinon, disappeared without a trace. The police suspected him from the very first day, but neither exhaustive searches of the property nor an F-16 aircraft equipped with infrared cameras found anything.

A year after the incident, Klinkhamer submitted a disturbing manuscript to a publisher: it described seven different methods for killing a wife, one of them involving a meat grinder. It was rejected as too horrifying to publish. He moved to Amsterdam, became a well-known literary figure, and enjoyed asking journalists whether there was any truth to his story.

Nine years passed before new owners were renovating the house and found human bones beneath the concrete floor of a shed in the garden. Klinkhamer confessed to hitting her with a crowbar during an argument. In 2001, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for homicide. He was released in 2003, before serving half of his sentence.

“Amy” —so named to protect her identity— was 30 years old when she decided to tell the BBC everything.

She met Christopher Malcolm on Tinder in late August 2023. Their first date was coffee and a walk because he didn’t drink. She remembers him as “charming and funny”. Within the first week, she had already met his parents. A few months later, they were living together. By Christmas, they were engaged.

Malcolm began controlling every detail of her life: he forced her to give up social media and forbade her from speaking on the phone with her family when he was at home because he “didn’t like her accent”. The physical violence came later—first occasionally, then every other weekend. He r***d her on several occasions. “You become immune because you understand that you can’t do anything,” she told the BBC. “You feel that if you tell someone, they’ll just tell you to leave him, but you’re not in a position to leave.”

Meanwhile, four people close to Amy —without her knowing— gathered messages and photos of her injuries and handed them over to the Scottish police. Malcolm was arrested in September 2024, four weeks before the wedding. “I was weeks away from marrying a serial rapist,” she would recall after those around her intervened. The sentence came soon after: 16 years in prison for crimes against Amy and three other women, some of which dated back to 2008.

It sounds like a joke, but it isn’t.

In Spain, private individuals are selling capsules made with human f***l matter online and through social media, promising that they are 'natural', 'safe', or come from 'healthy donors'. On September 4, 2026, the National Transplant Organization and the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases issued a joint statement to put a stop to this practice before someone gets hurt.

There is a real treatment called f***l microbiota transplantation, which does help restore intestinal bacteria in very specific cases, such as infections resistant to antibiotics. But that procedure requires rigorous donor screening, clinical processing, and constant medical supervision. None of that happens when someone sells you a jar through a private message.

The authorities were clear: preparing f***s to give to another person is not the same as making a homemade supplement, and it can transmit serious diseases. If you see this online, the recommendation is simple: don’t buy, don’t consume, and report it.

Yvonne “Missy” Woods worked for nearly 30 years as a DNA analyst for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. 😳

In September 2026, a judge sentenced her to just 10 years in prison after she pleaded guilty to perjury, forgery, cybercrime, and attempting to influence a public servant. Prosecutors discovered that she had deleted or altered DNA evidence in hundreds of homicide, sexual assault, and robbery cases, including at least 32 sexual abuse cases in which she removed key information about the male DNA of the perpetrators.

According to her own statements, she did not do it to frame anyone in particular, but purely for personal convenience: to streamline processes, close cases more quickly because of her professional burnout, and erase evidence of technical errors so she would not have to redo the work from scratch.

There had been suspicions since 2014, but no one stopped her until an intern found missing information in 2023. By then, a man convicted of murder had already been released because of the improper handling of evidence, and several prosecutors had to negotiate lighter sentences in other homicide cases for fear that the defendants would be acquitted. Colorado will now have to spend more than 11 million dollars reviewing cases that were believed to be resolved.
