Meet Nikia, a strong and loving dedicated mother of 3 amazing children. Born a native of Baltimore with a southern upbringing, she has always had a loving heart and passion to be of service. She aspires to continue to educate, enlighten, inspire, & encourage the youth. She aspires to be a light to everyone she encounters. She is a Howard University alumni and is currently seeking a dual masters degree in Early Childhood Education and in Psychology. She has retired from the Baltimore City public school system after serving for 15 years. Her entire life and career has been focused on the positive growth of our young people and their communities.

Meet Emma, our board member at large. She’s 33 years old and has been living in Philadelphia since she was 17 years old. She’s been through been thick and thin since then and very proud to say she’s a survivor. She loves to help others and is a firm believer in: If you do some kindness it always comes back to you!

Meet Araminta, the founder and creator of HopePhilly. She was born and raised in west Philadelphia. She was formally elected as Committee Woman in May of 2014 and served the West Philadelphia community for 4 years in the 3rd ward 2nd division. She has background in city, state, and federal employment. She has also acquired her business license in 2020 and is the creator of the podcast IWNBT. She has also created an all natural company NAKED21 with the intent on serving her community by providing access to healthy handmade products. She is also publishing her book “From Trauma, to Triumph” to inspire her peers and to combat trauma with success, mastery and education.
