Inhumane immigration policies are destroying entire families. We met young mom Charlotte and her son JJ at the "Love Thy Neighbor" multi-faith vigil organized by Live Free Philly Coalition at the Moshannon Detention Center, where her husband had been detained for 16 months. After spending thousands of dollars on what turned out to be bad legal advice, today she learned that their case had been denied. She now has a new lawyer, and next steps are being discussed. In the meantime, she must also support herself and her special needs son. Please contribute if you can. Let's show Charlotte that she is not alone. We are all in this together, and that's the only way we'll get through. ❤

The wheels of (in)justice. Even though the PA Supreme Court struck down the mandatory life without parole sentence for "felony murder" as unconstitutional -- some continue to languish in prison.

Matthew Garcia, who has been incarcerated for nearly three decades, and Cari Magobet advocated for legislation that would have given Garcia a chance to come home.

The Providence-headquartered financial institution says it ended its relationship with Core Civic and The GEO Group, two companies that invest and operate in prisons used to detain ICE arrestees.
