Help Us Find 5 Senior Mentors!
We need your help—and we’re hoping you’ll tap into your network!
We are looking for five mentors, age 55+, who would be willing to guide high school students as they explore careers in the following areas:
Animal Science / Animal Pharmacology
Librarian
Teacher
Author
Artist
Each of these career areas can lead in many different directions. The students are not looking for someone to teach them the profession or provide career training. They are looking for someone who can talk with them about the field as a whole, share personal experiences, answer questions, and help them understand the many options and pathways available within that career.
This is where your network can make a difference.
Think about former colleagues, friends, neighbors, professional contacts, or other people you know who are 55+ and have experience, knowledge, or simply a strong interest in one of these areas. They may be retired—or still working. They may have followed a traditional career path or an unconventional one.
And remember: once an educator, professional, artist, author, librarian, scientist, or animal-care professional, always someone with experiences worth sharing!
This mentoring program is a pilot funded through Jared Solomon’s Senior Mentor Volunteer Project, giving S.A.G.E. an exciting opportunity to connect older adults with high school students in a meaningful intergenerational mentoring experience.
Can you think of someone who might be a great mentor? Even if you’re not sure they would be interested, please send us their name or, better yet, reach out to them and tell them about the opportunity.
Five students are waiting for someone who can help them see what their future might look like.
Please help us find those five people.
Thank you for continuing to support S.A.G.E. and, most importantly, the students we serve.
