Women and Guns

Here's an overview of women and guns in the U.S.:

1. Gun ownership

Increasing Trend: While men are still roughly twice as likely to own a gun, women's gun ownership has significantly increased over the past decade and a half.
In 2024, approximately 25% of women (about 42 million) owned guns, a 13% increase from 2022.
Women accounted for nearly half of first-time gun buyers between 2019 and 2021.

2. Reasons for ownership

Self-defense and safety: This is the primary reason cited by women for owning a gun.
Many women report feeling empowered by their ability to protect themselves and their families, especially in the face of rising crime rates and social unrest.
Some women also engage in shooting for sport and recreational activities.

3. Gun control views

Women are more likely than men to support stricter gun laws, regardless of whether they own guns or not.
However, support for stricter gun laws among women has decreased in recent years.

4. Training and empowerment

With the rise in female gun ownership, many women are seeking out training and education in fi****ms safety and self-defense.
Organizations like A Girl and A Gun and the US Concealed Carry Association offer training specifically for women, creating supportive environments for learning and skill development.
Training helps women gain confidence, understand responsible gun ownership, and learn how to use fi****ms safely and effectively.

5. Societal impact

The increasing presence of women in the fi****ms community is changing the culture of gun ownership, challenging traditional gender roles and contributing to a broader movement toward self-defense and personal empowerment.

Women are becoming more vocal in the gun control debate, advocating for policies that both ensure their safety and protect Second Amendment rights.

The rise of female gun owners has also led to changes in the fi****ms industry, with manufacturers designing guns specifically for women and offering products like "carrywear" designed to make carrying and concealing fi****ms more convenient.

This trend of increasing female gun ownership and participation in the fi****ms community reflects a growing desire among women to take control of their personal safety and security, challenging societal perceptions and reshaping the landscape of gun ownership in the United States.

🤔💭You can’t parent for comfort if the world isn’t built for peace.

As a parent, my job isn’t to wrap my kids in bubble wrap and cross my fingers. My job is to train them for a world that doesn’t care if they’re safe.

Because I care. Because when I’m not there and one day, I won’t be they still need to live.

Read that again.

I don’t raise my kids to obey me.I raise them to outlive me. Mentally. Physically. Spiritually. Strategically.

I’ve accepted the bitter truth: I will not always be able to protect them. But I sure as hell can prepare them.

This isn’t just about defense or fi****ms. This is about bushcraft. Navigation. First aid. Recognizing manipulation. Reading a room. Staying calm while everyone else panics. Knowing when to speak and when to disappear.

Because survival isn't just a "what if" scenario anymore it’s becoming a life skill. Look around: the world isn't softening. It's polarizing, digitizing, destabilizing.

So what do I do?

I give my kids tools, not just talks. I train them how to think critically, not just how to follow rules. I show them the difference between fear and awareness. Between violence and defense. Between comfort and capability. And no, this doesn’t mean I expect chaos. It means I’m not naive to the fact that history doesn’t ask for permission to repeat itself.

I don’t expect every parent to believe what I believe. But I do challenge every parent to at least do this:

Ask yourself if everything collapsed tomorrow, would your kids know what to do?
Would they freeze, or would they move with purpose?

We don’t get to choose the world they inherit. But we can choose how we equip them to face it.
Let’s stop parenting for likes and start parenting for legacy.

Ladies, let’s be real.

Too many believe they can “figure it out when the time comes.” That when danger appears, adrenaline will kick in, instincts will save them, or maybe someone will step in.

But the truth?

If you wait for the fight to learn how to fight. you’ve already lost.

The people who want to hurt you, control you, or use you they’re not waiting. They’re planning. They’re practicing. They’ve chosen their weapon, picked their strategy, and they’ve played this out in their heads over and over.

And you? You’re hoping it never happens.

Hope is not a defense strategy.

You don’t need to be paranoid. You don’t need to walk around angry. But you DO need to be prepared. Not just physically mentally. Spiritually. Tactically. Because you are not just a body. You are not just someone’s mother, sister, partner, or friend.

You are a weapon but only if you decide to become one.

Knowledge is your blade. Training is your shield. Confidence is your armor.

And when you know what to do when you’ve trained your mind and body to respond you don’t walk in fear. You walk in power. You don’t cower when someone tests your boundaries you hold the line.

Every time you tell yourself, “I’ll get to it eventually,” just remember: the people who wish you harm are not waiting for eventually. They’re counting on your delay. They're hoping you stay soft, unready, unsure.

So I’m not here to scare you. I’m here to wake you up.

No one is coming to save you. But no one needs to because you are enough.

Make the choice. Learn the skills. Own your space. Protect what’s yours your body, your peace, your life.

You don’t need a weapon. You are the weapon.

But only if you prepare like one.

To Every Woman Who Feels the Weight of the World on Her Shoulders.

You were never created to just survive this world you were born to move through it with purpose, with power, and with presence.
Your life is not disposable, Your voice is not optional, your body is no one’s property.

Your existence is not up for debate. You are one of this planet’s most powerful natural resources. A healer. A builder. A nurturer. A warrior in grace.

You don’t owe this world silence to keep the peace you are the peace they keep breaking and begging to return.

We’re not asking for protection. We’re reminding you that you have the right to become your own.

Self-defense is not violence it’s self-respect in motion. It’s love wrapped in courage. It’s boundaries made visible. This isn’t about fear. This is about freedom.
It’s about claiming your space, owning your story, and standing up with your sisters who refuse to shrink.

Survival Sisters isn’t a trend. It’s a truth. A movement, a mirror held up to remind you, you’ve always had the power.

Now, it’s time to use it.
Support women who defend themselves. Stand beside women who train their bodies, sharpen their minds, and protect their peace.

No, we are not victims.
We are the storm, the calm, and the rise after the fall.
If this speaks to something deep inside you come closer, lean in.
Let’s remember who we are together.
