🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Anita! 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce a familiar and friendly face to our community, Anita!

A longtime resident of North Wales, Anita has been married to her wonderful husband for 36 years. She is a proud mom of two married sons and an even prouder grandmother! Her journey with us began in 2014 after her youngest son headed off to college. She spotted an article in the newspaper about Laurel’s Loft, walked in to offer her help, and has been a vital part of the team ever since.

For Anita, Laurel’s Loft is a thrift store AND a community. Over the last decade, she has found a second home within our organization, fueled by the connections she makes with the staff and those who walk through our doors.

Anita has spent the last ten years creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone at the shop. She treasures the intimate conversations shared with fellow volunteers while working in the back and the joy of running into old friends browsing the aisles. She especially loves witnessing that "light up" moment when a customer discovers a hidden treasure they truly love. Anita feels fortunate to be part of the Laurel House mission, and we certainly feel fortunate to have her! 🛍️❤️

Anita, thank you for a decade of kindness, friendship, and dedication. You make Laurel’s Loft a truly special place!

Her smile says it all 💚

We’re so grateful to Maureen from the Rotary Club of Springfield for her generosity and heart. Because of supporters like her, we’re able to keep showing up for children and families who need us most.

A first for our region! This week, we hosted the FIRST-EVER training inside our new Regional Training Center for child abuse professionals in the Northeast.

We were proud to welcome Juvenile Probation Officers from Montgomery County, PA for this milestone moment.

Led by Michelle Kline, Mission Kids' Forensic Interviewer Supervisor, the training focused on recognizing and responding to child abuse disclosures through real-life scenarios and role play. Participants strengthened the skills needed to respond in ways that are both supportive and legally sound.

Many children who have experienced abuse also interact with the juvenile justice system. That makes this collaboration not just valuable, but essential.

This is exactly why this space was created.

We are grateful for our partnership with Montgomery County’s Juvenile Probation Department and our shared commitment to supporting children, families, and our community.
