It started with a 1 a.m. text between friends. Now Shop4Seniors has more than 110 volunteers across seven Pennsylvania counties. "'We Are' all in this together, and we're just trying to do our part," said Shop4Seniors founder and Penn State student Robert Esgro.

Shop4Seniors is thrilled to announce our new status as an officially listed aid partner of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia!

The , which encompasses almost 1.5 million people, now lists Shop4Seniors as a respected source of aid for the elderly and disabled during the COVID-19 pandemic. Shop4Seniors will also work with the Archdiocese’s outreach program, Catholic Social Services, to deliver food from food pantries to lower-income people in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Statement from Shop4Seniors President Robert Esgro: “Shop4Seniors is beyond proud to be listed as an aid partner of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. We are grateful to those in Archdiocese who made it possible for our services to be easily accessible by the 1.5 million that the Archdiocese serves. Another great day of deliveries ✅

Today Shop4Seniors worked with our new friends at Hearts To Hands Delco Community Organization to deliver handmade masks to seniors in Ridley and Media. Thank you to our volunteers who stepped up on short notice to make these deliveries happen! Hearts to Hands was also gracious enough to give a handmade mask to each volunteer. @ Delaware County Housing Authority

What is Shop4Seniors

Nobody should have to risk their lives performing essential tasks during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

8 out of 10 coronavirus deaths reported in the U.S. have been in adults 65 years old and older. In Italy, many did not heed the warnings. We need to protect our grandparents by helping them stay at home.

SHOP4SENIORS was founded as a means of providing assistance to older Pennsylvanians and Pennsylvanians at high risk of infection during the duration of the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak. SHOP4SENIORS helps with essential activities such as buying groceries or other goods that a person may want or need but is unable to get out of fear of contracting the virus.

SHOP4SENIORS brings the local community together to help older Pennsylvanians in this time of unprecedented need. SHOP4SENIORS has two facets: People who are older or at high risk of infection submit their grocery list to their local organization, and people who are at low to no risk can sign up to drive to the supermarket to pick up the list and deliver to the person who ordered​​. It's that easy!
