What we still get wrong about women’s health.

Calling pain “normal.”
Ignoring symptoms for years.
Studying male bodies as the default.
Treating hormones like mood swings instead of medicine.

Women’s health has never been under-discussed.
It has been under-researched.

PCOS has officially been renamed to PMOS
Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

Because women spent years explaining that it was never “just ovarian cysts.”
It affects hormones, metabolism, mental health, skin, fertility, and entire lives.

The name finally caught up with the reality.

The film Hope was inspired by the real-life Cho Doo-soon case in South Korea.

An eight-year-old girl was brutally assaulted in 2008 by Cho Doo-soon, a repeat offender.
The case shocked the country not only because of the violence, but because of the failures that followed.

After serving his sentence, he was released and moved back near the victim’s neighbourhood, reigniting public outrage and fear.

The story became a national conversation about child safety, survivor trauma, sentencing laws, and how society protects perpetrators more comfortably than survivors.

Giorgia Meloni backing the consideration of chemical castration marks a notably harder stance on sexual violence. For some, it reflects more than policy it signals a long-standing demand for stronger, more decisive consequences for such crimes.

Supporters maintain that stricter interventions could function as a deterrent, particularly in cases involving repeat offenders and offences against minors. In a justice system often criticised as slow or inadequate, calls for more stringent action continue to intensify.

Blaming victims will never prevent violence.
It only protects the people causing it.

The question was never what they wore, where they went, or how they acted.
The question is why accountability is still so difficult for society.

Giorgia Meloni’s support for considering chemical castration has reignited urgent conversations around how justice systems respond to sexual violence and, more importantly, how they protect women and vulnerable communities.

From a women’s rights perspective, this moment underscores a deeper issue: survivors deserve systems that prioritise their safety, dignity, and long-term justice. While stricter punitive measures are often seen as a step toward accountability especially in cases involving repeat offenders or crimes against minors
