Please see message from YM Sgt Maj Myers. Division 1 Young Marine of the Year:

Hello Dedicated Adult Volunteers,

I hope you are staying healthy and safe. First, let me say thank you for all you do for all of the Young Marines and Program. I am genuinely grateful for you and all your time, dedication, support and efforts for all of us Young Marines and the program! Without you we would not have such an amazing program!

The Covid 19 quarantine has been a stressful time for everyone. I have been trying to focus on the positives and keep sending positive messages across the Division and Program. I am sending you a "call to action" to help me with this endeavor. Please create a poster or sign with words of encouragement and support. It can be a word, phrase, sentences, anything that shows support and encouragement to the Young Marines. Then take a selfie with your poster and send it to me- [email protected]. I am putting together a video of everyone that participates. I am trying to send a positive and grateful message throughout the program to continue to motivate and encourage all the Young Marines. This video will go to the PR department at Headquarters for publishing on the National Page. I will also post it on the PA Regiment FB and Instagram Pages. Please send me your photo of you and your poster/sign by 4/20/20 at 6 pm.

Thank you for your help!

STAY POSITIVE, MOTIVATED AND ENGAGED!!

Good afternoon,
I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the new PA 1st Battalion CO. My name is Heather Sliwinski, and I've been involved with the Young Marine Program for 11 years now. My son Luke Sliwinski (youngest of 6) started the program at the age of 8 years old and graduated the program last spring as a YM/MGySgt from Spartan Young Marines. He is now a Lcpl in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton CA.
I am also a crisis counselor for our nation's wounded warriors, first responders, and their families. I've helped run a nonprofit organization called Operation Ward 57 for 8 years now. Volunteering is something that is very important to me, it's a way to give back to this amazing country we live in. Working with our nation's youth is also extremely important to me and I believe in everything that the Young Marine's Program stands My plan is to use this page to keep Registered Adults, and parents up to date on any upcoming events within the Young Marine Program and within the 1st Battalion, and also to showcase any great achievements by your Young Marines and 1st Battalion Units. If you have a Young Marine/ Unit going above and beyond, please let my know so that they can be acknowledged and showcased.
I'm proud to be part of such an outstanding program and look forward to working with all of the 1st Battalion Units. I also hope that everyone is safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. Hopefully, we will be back to some sense of normalcy soon!
