Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we are reminded that menstrual dignity is not charity โ€” it is equity, access, education, leadership, and long-term systems change.

On May 23, 2026, PADS for Girls Liberia officially launched Cohort III at the Orange Digital Center, welcoming 40 adolescent girls from Edgewater Drive Small Town Community and Old Road, Smythe Road Block C & D Communities into a two-year mentorship and empowerment journey.

Beyond monthly sanitary support, these girls will receive leadership training, mentorship, vocational exposure, community service engagement, and digital literacy training through our partnership with Open Source Team Liberia and Daughters of Destiny Foundation.

As we continue operationalizing BioGirl, our biodegradable menstrual pad sustainability initiative, we remain committed to building locally driven solutions that ensure girls are not only supported โ€” but empowered to lead, thrive, and shape their futures.

This work is only possible through collective action. We invite individuals, organizations, and partners to donate to PADS for Girls Liberia and contribute to the growth of BioGirl as we work to create sustainable menstrual health solutions for girls across Liberia.

Strengthening Collaboration for Adolescent Girls Programming in Liberia

On May 8, 2026, UNICEF Liberia hosted a stakeholders meeting at One UN House in Monrovia to strengthen collaboration for adolescent girls' programming. PADS for Girls was represented in full, and we had in attendance other CSOs. the session focused on harmonizing the efforts of civil society organizations (CSOs) to bridge service gaps in education, health, and protection. By focusing on implementation schedules, partners aim to create a more unified and impactful framework for girls empowerment across the country.

Thanks to Christina M. Bimba from Girls for Change Initiative for the invite.

"One Period Should Not End a Girlโ€™s Education" I am Lovetta Y. Qualah, a Liberian woman who has lived through period poverty. As a girl, there were months when I could not afford sanitary pads and was forced to use unsafe alternatives. The result was shame, low self-esteem, and health complication...

March 15th will remain a marker in our hearts. ๐Ÿฅน๐ŸŒบ

What we witnessed was a movement of voices, stories, healing, and truth. 'WOMAN' came alive in ways that reminded us that every girl, every woman carries strength, dignity, and purpose that must never be silenced.

To every artist, speaker, partner, volunteer, and attendee, THANK YOU! You showed up and showed out. You created a space where stories were honored, identities were reclaimed, and hope was reignited.

To those who gave, pledged, and committed to the vision of BioGirl, thank you for believing in a future where no girl is held back by something as natural as her body.

This is only the beginning.

The work continues. The mission is clear. And together, we will build a generation of girls who are informed, empowered, and unstoppable.

With a full heart,
