It has been exactly one year since we have been living in the USA thanks to you. It was one year ago on October 16 that we arrived in America, where we were welcomed with a smile by the Finn family. Thank you to this family for everything, for trusting us, because we did not know each other, let us into their home, into their family and surrounded us with care. They are amazing people, trusting, honest, caring and selfless. We are grateful to everyone who supported us on our new path. After a year we can say that we are happy to be here, we are safe and surrounded by good people, we all have jobs, we are working and learning. Thank you.

A message sent from the Selivanov Family to the Delco Welcome Circle:

Back in 2014 we were going through bad times. Because of the hostilities, part of Donetsk region was occupied by Russia and we lived on the border with the war. Our neighborhood was shelled more than once, but still we did not dare to leave the city, we hoped that soon everything would be over.
In 2022, not only our city, but the whole country was invaded by neighbors. For almost a month, the city was under constant bombardment. In an instant, we lost everything we held dear. A lot of people lost their lives. We managed to survive and soon, not without difficulty, left the war zone.
We are now in Germany. We did not plan to stay here for a long time, we thought we would wait for the war to be over and come back, but unfortunately the war continues and we have to look for a new place in life.
After a long time, we learned that there is a U4U program for Ukrainians. On a specialized website, we posted a questionnaire and a brief story about our family. Soon Edward responded and offered to help, for which we are very grateful to him and his team. After going through all the stages of checks, we were approved for the flight. At the moment, we have purchased tickets and will be flying to America soon. We hope that we will be useful to the American society. Thank you for everything you do for us and our country.

We are pleased to announce that the Delco Welcome Circle has extended an invitation to a Ukrainian family from Mariupol to come to America with our support. They shared that the invitation they received and accepted from our Welcome Circle was a very emotional moment for them.
