At SHE IS U, INC., we remain committed to supporting Overcomers and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual abuse, and sexual assault—not just with words, but with real support.

This year, we will be selecting:
✨ 1 Family for a Back-to-School Shopping Spree!
✨ 1 Student for a Scholarship Investment Award!

This Mother’s Day, we honor the mothers who silently endured abuse while still finding the strength to love and protect their children. 💗

We remember the mothers who lost their lives to domestic violence and intimate partner violence. We will continue to say their names and fight for change in their honor.

And to the children who witnessed the abuse, heard the pain, and carried trauma they never deserved, we see you too.

Today is for the Overcomers, the grieving families, the healing children, and every mother still fighting to find peace. You are not forgotten.

Love should never hurt. 💕

What happens when a child is labeled before they’re understood?

When kids act out, people are quick to call them “bad,” “difficult,” or “a problem.” But what if that behavior is actually trauma showing up with no safe place to go?

Words stick, especially at a young age.

If a child is constantly told they won’t amount to anything… eventually, they start to believe it. And that belief can follow them into adulthood, shaping their confidence, their choices, and their sense of self.

In this video, Shakina shares her own experience growing up and how those labels impacted her, and how many children are misunderstood instead of supported.

This is bigger than behavior.

Some of the most damaging words survivors hear aren’t shouted — they’re dismissed.

“You just want attention.”

Statements like this silence survivors. They create doubt, shame, and isolation. They make people question their own experiences instead of seeking help.

This is how abuse continues. Not just through actions, but through denial.

Sexual assault and domestic violence don’t always leave visible marks. But the impact is real. And every time someone speaks up, they deserve to be heard, not questioned.

We have to do better.

Believe survivors.
Support Overcomers.
Break the cycle of silence.

But this work doesn’t happen without resources.

We are actively collecting:
• Comforters, pillows, sheets
• Towels & washcloths
• Undergarments (new)
• Essential care items
