It Was Once Pakistan’s Military Stronghold. Now Even It Has Had Enough.

The mounting frustration with the military in Punjab, Pakistan's most populous and politically significant province, signals a significant shift. Residents heading to the polls this week express deep dissatisfaction with the economy's decline, soaring inflation, and the imprisonment of a popular politician. Many blame the military for these issues, a departure from previous support. This discontent has led to protests and arrests, marking a notable change in Punjab's political landscape. The military's interference in elections and economic policies has further fueled resentment. Even those from military backgrounds are questioning its authority. The anti-military sentiment is reshaping political dynamics, with younger generations rejecting traditional party loyalties and voting against military-backed parties. Despite risks, voices of dissent are growing louder as the election approaches.

PAKISTAN IS TROUBLED, THE WORLD IS WORRID.

Pakistan's military interference in elections has intensified, with a crackdown on the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (P.T.I.), making the upcoming vote one of the least credible in Pakistan's history. P.T.I. candidates and supporters have faced arrests, intimidation, censorship, and restrictions on campaigning. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, jailed since August, received further sentences recently. While military involvement in elections is not new, the current crackdown is more overt, fueling concerns about political and economic stability. The military's actions aim to weaken P.T.I., while the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (P.M.L.N.) is expected to benefit. The crackdown has subdued political activity, with P.T.I. supporters feeling demoralized and disillusioned about the election's fairness. Despite challenges, P.T.I. candidates continue campaigning in small, private gatherings amid restrictions on public rallies and symbols. The crackdown has also affected various segments of society, including women and the elite, signaling broader implications for political dissent in Pakistan.

Dear Friends,
As we approach the sacred month of Ramadan, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt appeal on behalf of the underprivileged members of our community in Kahroor Pakka, Pakistan.
The economic hardships faced by many families in our community have reached unprecedented levels, particularly amidst the ongoing challenges. Last year, thanks to your generosity and compassion, we were able to provide vital assistance to over 250 families in need. Your support enabled us to distribute food packages and offer nourishing Iftar and Sari meals, ensuring that our brothers and sisters had sustenance during this blessed month.
This year, as we witness the deepening struggles of families who often have just one meal a day, your continued support is needed more than ever. We are committed to providing nutritious meals to those who need them most, and your contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of these families.
To facilitate our planning and ensure we can reach as many families as possible, we kindly ask for your assistance in the following ways:

1. Food Packages: Each food package costs approximately $30.00 (Rs. 7500) and provides essential supplies for one family for one month. Your donation towards these packages will directly impact the lives of those in need.
2. Iftar / Sari Meals: For approximately $199.00 (Rs. 55,000) per day, you can sponsor a full Iftar or Sari meal for approximately 250 people. These meals will be carefully planned to include a variety of nutritious options.
3. Family Sponsorship: Consider sponsoring 5 or 10 Iftar meals for families in need, at the cost of $995.00 or $1990.00 respectively. Your generosity will bring joy and relief to those struggling during Ramadan.
4. Group Sponsorship: If you are able to contribute on a larger scale, sponsoring food packages for groups of 25 families at $750.00 per month can have a profound impact on the community.

Your support, whether big or small, will help us alleviate the burden of hunger and provide essential nourishment to those who need it most. Please reach out to me directly to discuss your donation preferences and any questions you may have.
Let us come together as a community to embody the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines the holy month of Ramadan. Your kindness will bring hope and relief to those who are most vulnerable, serving as a beacon of light in their time of need.
Thank you for your unwavering support and may this Ramadan be a source of blessings and mercy for us all.

Imran Khan, Pakistan's former Prime Minister, faces multiple legal challenges, including a 10-year jail sentence, yet he appears nonchalant. His trials are conducted in secret, with his defense team barred, raising concerns about fairness.

As Pakistan nears its general elections on Feb. 8, Khan's party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), faces a crackdown. Thousands of PTI workers have been arrested, leaders forced to quit, and the party's logo banned. The election environment lacks fairness, according to Human Rights Watch.

The U.S., despite advocating for democracy, maintains a reserved stance. This is partly due to Khan's strained relationship with President Biden, and the broader power structure in Pakistan where the military holds significant influence.

General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff, has played a pivotal role in Khan's downfall and supported the return of Nawaz Sharif to power. The U.S. values Pakistan's role in combating terrorism and stabilizing relations with India, areas where Khan's performance has been criticized.

In the short term, Sharif is seen as a safe choice by the U.S., but his economic record is poor. The risk of social unrest in Pakistan looms as the economy falters, especially if the election process is tampered with.

Imran Khan's popularity remains high, and the military may resort to rigging to curb PTI's chances. The Biden Administration's reluctance to voice strong concerns may have an impact on the unfolding events.

In conclusion, Pakistan's elections are marred by allegations of rigging and political manipulation, and the U.S. appears hesitant to take a stronger stance despite advocating for democracy. The role of the military and the economic challenges in Pakistan add complexity to the situation.

Recently, in a large city in France, a poster featuring a young, thin, and tan woman appeared in the window of a gym.It read: “This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?”?
A middle-aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman pictured on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym. She had a whale of a lot to say:
“To Whom It May Concern,?
Whales are always surrounded by friends: dolphins, sea lions, and curious humans. They have an active s*x life, get pregnant, and have adorable baby whales. They enjoy stuffing themselves with shrimp, playing and swimming in the sea, and visiting wonderful places like Patagonia, the Bering Sea, and the coral reefs of Polynesia.
Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. ?They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected, and admired by almost everyone in the world.?
Mermaids don’t exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of psychoanalysts due to their identity crisis. Fish or human would prove quite a quandary for even the most skilled of therapists.
They don’t have a s*x life because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have s*x? Just look at them … where is IT? Therefore, they don’t have kids either. Not to mention, who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store??
P.S. We are in an age when the media attempts to convince us that only skinny people are beautiful. I prefer to enjoy ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver, and good chocolate with my friends. With time, we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren’t heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated, and happy.?
