🕊️ Honoring George Floyd’s Life
• Today, we gather not only to remember George Floyd’s tragic death, but to celebrate his life — a life that sparked a global awakening.
• George Floyd was a father, a brother, a friend, a human being whose name became a rallying cry for justice.
• His final words, “I can’t breathe,” still echo as a reminder of the pain inflicted by systems built on oppression — and of our responsibility to ensure that no one else has to cry out for their right to live.

✊🏾 Why We Celebrate
• We celebrate George Floyd because his life reminded the world that Black lives matter — not as a slogan, but as a sacred truth.
• His death forced a reckoning that transcended borders and generations. Millions of people stood up, marched, and demanded change because of him.
• We celebrate his birthday not with sorrow, but with purpose — by continuing the fight for freedom, dignity, and equality that his death reignited.

⚖️ Ending White Supremacy
• To honor George Floyd means confronting and dismantling white supremacy — not just in words, but in our institutions, policies, and everyday actions.
• White supremacy isn’t just about hatred; it’s about systems designed to keep certain people in power while silencing others.
• Ending it requires courage — the courage to challenge uncomfortable truths, to hold leaders accountable, and to build communities rooted in justice and mutual respect.

🚫 Stop Normalizing Modern-Day Racism
• We must stop pretending that racism is a thing of the past. It’s present in policing, education, healthcare, housing, and even the air we breathe.
• Modern-day racism wears suits and uniforms. It hides behind “policy,” “procedure,” and “professionalism.”
• Every time we ignore injustice, make excuses for violence, or stay silent in the face of harm, we normalize it.
• True progress begins when we refuse to look away.

🌍 Call to Action: Living the Legacy
• Celebrating George Floyd’s birthday is a call to action — to turn pain into power, protest into policy, and memory into movement.
• We do this by voting, by organizing, by teaching our children the truth, and by demanding systems that value every human life equally.
• George Floyd’s legacy is not just about what was lost; it’s about what we continue to build — a world where everyone can breathe freely.

“As long as we keep saying his name, as long as we keep fighting for the justice he deserved, George Floyd lives on — not just in memory, but a movement.

Remember.
