Beer Historian To Speak About The Craft Brewing Revolution

Pennsylvania is leading the way in America’s craft brewing revolution and one man has been an eyewitness to the industry’s growth since the 1980s.

Beer Historian and brewer Rich Wagner took a one-week vacation in 1980 to visit a half dozen surviving Pennsylvania breweries as a first step in a lifelong study of brewing in the Keystone State.
Many revolutionary changes have occurred since then and the story continues to evolve as craft brewing has redefined Pennsylvania’s brewing industry in so many ways.

Join Rich Wagner at a special charity event at Perkasie’s Free Will Brewing, see some of the old relics, and learn about how regional microbreweries are making their own history.

Tickets are $15 only in advance of the event and available online at betterunite.com/pennridgefund. The event is on Tuesday, March 21, from 7 pm to 9 pm at Free Will Brewing, 410 East Walnut Street, Perkasie, Pa.

Admission includes a brief brewery tour before Wagner’s presentation, two adult beverages (beer or wine) or soda per ticket holder, and finger snacks. Tickets may be limited for this event based on event capacity.

All proceeds from “The Craft Brewing Revolution” go to the Pennridge Community Relief Fund, a 501c3 that aids local non-profits on the front line of emergency or disaster situations.

To better fits its charitable mission, our non-profit organization has changed its name to the Pennridge Community Relief Fund (or Pennridge Community Fund, for short). We've expanded our mission to the eight municipalities that comprise the Pennridge School District region. We seek to aid non-profits and faith-based organizations (that offer secular services) on the front line of emergency or disaster situations. These organizations provide much-needed food, shelter, public safety, counseling, and social services and other relief to a community of approximately 50,000 residents. The fund applies for grants and funding from individuals, foundations, non-government organizations and state and county sources, to be redistributed within the Pennridge community. The fund's bylaws require the disbursements to have a connection to an emergency or disaster situation.
