She survived. She still deserves safety, love, and hope. 💜

This International Women’s Day, we honor the courage of women and children who have survived abuse and are still choosing to rise every day. At Awareness for Surviving Women and Children (ASWAC), we walk beside survivors with free, confidential support, safety planning, and resources to rebuild life with dignity.

No woman should have to choose between safety and survival.
No child should learn love through violence.
No survivor should feel alone.

Black Maternal Health Week 2023 and Black Maternal Health Day, held at the capital of Pennsylvania on Thursday, April 13th was a success. Black Maternal Health Week is held annually to deepens conversation about black maternal mortality. It also allows to drive policy, encourage research, and solution. Thank you to state representative Gina H. Curry for inviting ASWAC executives. Representative Gina, we are sincerely grateful for your support and dedication to raising awareness and working collaboratively to change the narrative for black birthing women so that black mothers are protected and respected to bring life into this world.

ASWAC attended INSPI-HER’D 10/10/22 event organized for girls. This event was hosted by Representative Gina Curry of the 164th legislative district in Delaware County. Amongst topics discussed were social media, yoga, mental health awareness, self-care, coping exercises and many more. This was a great opportunity for ASWAC to meet and network with other community organizations for the betterment of women and children. Mental health, teen dating, and intimate partner violence awareness is an ongoing effort that needs community support. Volunteering in your community makes it safer and better for everyone, including your children, family and friends. Let’s all do our part to build and sustain a safe environment in our communities.
