Hi everyone, it's Ivy checking in. It's been 5 weeks since I arrived at my foster home and wow have I grown. I'm over 25 pounds now! Foster brother doesn't have to take it easy on me anymore - I can hold my own. And we play all the time. When he grows tired of me foster mom will play fetch. That's just as much fun. I am learning a new word - NO. No shoes. No socks. No couch. No biting. No jumping on foster mom. No no no. It's NO fun! But sometimes, I'm so fast now, that when I get that sock I run round and round the couch and she can't catch me!

As much as I love my foster home and feel safe, I am still timid in new places. And especially with new people. I warmed up to a couple people but it took awhile. And lots of hot dogs! I think I would be happiest in a quiet home. A fenced in yard would be great. And if you have a dog - well that's just the cherry on top!

🐾 HAPPY ADOPTION DAY, TED! 🐾

We are thrilled to share that Ted has been adopted by Robin and Ben, and they are absolutely ecstatic to have him! ❤️

We received this wonderful message from Robin:

“Such a wonderful dog, we are so fortunate.”

She also shared how grateful they are for everyone who helped bring Ted into their lives:

“Ted, Ben and I surely appreciate what you both do. I am actually grateful for all of the L.E.A.R.N. volunteers. The group will be highly recommended by us.”

Robin was so appreciative of everyone who had a hand in Ted’s adoption and we couldn’t be happier knowing how loved this boy already is.

It truly takes a village to make these happy endings happen, and every L.E.A.R.N. volunteer plays a part.

Congratulations to Ted, Robin and Ben! We wish you many wonderful years of love, adventures, tail wags and happy memories together. ❤️

Adoption News!

Duchess was adopted today by Donna and Roy! 🐾❤️
Duchess came to L.E.A.R.N. in July, and what a transformation she made during her time in foster care! She blossomed into such a sweet, gentle, amazing girl.
With lots of love, patience, and stability, Duchess became comfortable meeting new people, no more barking! She was introduced to all kinds of new situations, got her ear infection under control, and learned that she was safe and loved.
She was also one of the best walking partners we have ever fostered, an absolute dream on a leash. Her gentle nature, sweet kisses, and companionship on those walks will definitely be missed.
From the very first meeting with Donna and Roy, Duchess was SO comfortable with them that it just felt right. And today, she confirmed it. She walked down the driveway, never looked back, and hopped right into their car like she knew exactly where she belonged. (I LOVE it when they do that! ❤️)
Donna had tears of happiness when they picked her up today, and that made my heart so happy.
Duchess was a very special girl, and saying goodbye isn't easy, but knowing she has found her permanent people makes it all worthwhile.
A huge thank you to Mary Lynn for answering all my questions, Karen for another perfect match and for being so patient with me and to L.E.A.R.N. for saying yes to this wonderful girl.

Meet Gus! 🐾
Gus arrived in Northern Illinois last week, and it didn’t take this sweet boy long to settle right into his foster home. He’s a well-behaved, happy guy who loves playing with his foster brother and is always up for a good game of fetch!

At six years old, Gus is the perfect mix of grown-up manners and playful fun. He still has plenty of silly in him and loves enjoying life with his people. Gus already knows several basic commands, including sit, down, and drop it, and he’s crate-trained, too.

Gus has some allergies we are working to control, so he’ll need a family willing to give him a little extra TLC and continue providing the care he needs to keep him feeling his best.

This sweet, fun-loving boy is ready to start his next chapter. Gus is hoping his next adventure leads him straight into the arms of his forever family! ❤️

PLEASE NOTE: PIGLET IS NOT PART OF THE L.E.A.R.N. PROGRAM

Piglet is located in INDIANA and is being cross-posted by L.E.A.R.N. as a courtesy to help him find the right home. He is currently in the care of PAAIN, an organization serving Batesville, Indiana, and the surrounding area.

Piglet is 3-4 years old, has a shorter, stockier build and looks very similar to an English Lab. His previous owner was his only owner and, after the two had been living in a car for several weeks, voluntarily surrendered Piglet to PAAIN for his health and well-being. PAAIN has been caring for him since May 16, 2026.

Piglet is primarily housed in a small shelter setting but has been spending time in a temporary foster home, where he is doing much better. He is very food-motivated, eager to please, and willing to learn. He listens well when corrected and has already made wonderful progress.

Because Piglet spent much of his life with very little structure, he will need a home committed to continuing his training, especially with leash walking and basic manners. He is learning quickly and does very well once he understands what is expected of him.

Piglet is very good with other dogs and cats and would especially love having a canine companion in his new home. He has also done well with a 5-year-old child, but because he is still learning manners, he could accidentally knock over a smaller child.

Piglet did come into care with some separation anxiety, but he has been making tremendous progress in this area. He is currently attending “Boot Camp,” where he is receiving additional training, structure, and guidance, and his separation anxiety has improved significantly. He is learning to remain calm and comfortable in his kennel and is becoming more confident with time. Having another dog around also seems to help him feel secure, which is one of the reasons we feel he would thrive in a home with a canine companion.

Piglet has made tremendous progress over the last few weeks, and his potential is easy to see. His ideal home would have another dog and an adopter who can provide consistent training, structure, and patience.

Piglet really is a very good boy once he understands the rules. He is eager, capable, and ready to keep learning with someone willing to give him that opportunity.

Hi everyone! My name is Odin, and I'm a 10-month-old puppy looking for my forever home! I'm a typical young pup - I'm playful, curious, and love exploring the world around me. I have lots of puppy energy and would love a family who is ready to keep me busy with playtime, adventure, and plenty of learning.

I already know some basic training, and I'm potty trained and comfortable in my kennel. I do have a little separation anxiety when I'm kenneled and can't see my people, so I'm still working on learning that being alone is okay. I'm also working on basic obedience and leash manners, and I'd love a family that will keep helping me become the best dog I can be.

I previously lived in a home with kids and a cat and did well with both. I also really like other dogs and try my very best to make friends! Unfortunately, my current foster siblings aren't quite as enthusiastic about my attempts to befriend them, so I'm learning to respect their boundaries.

I'm still just a puppy, which means I'm full of fun, personality, and potential! If you're looking for a playful, sweet young dog who is ready to learn and grow alongside you, I might just be your guy!

Meet Ted! Ted arrived in Wisconsin 2 days ago and is enjoying playing with his foster siblings and taking walks around the neighborhood. He ignores the deer, but loves the humans and canines. Ted will be 5 years old in a few weeks. Ted has good manners and is crate and potty trained. He knows some commands, including sit, down, and drop.

Hi, I'm Ted. If you're looking for a charming, good-looking, and social companion, it's me. I'm smart, friendly, and an all-around good boy.

I love cruising around my fenced yard and playing ball. I can beat Thor to the ball most times and take it back to be thrown again. I've been helping my foster dad work from his home office. He says I snore, but I don't believe it.

Can you see how handsome I am? Those extra couple of pounds look amazing on me. I keep trying to crawl into bed with foster mom and dad, but foster dad keeps pointing to my dog bed on the floor next to him. Don't worry, I'll keep trying.

Ted has adjusted well to his new routine. He is a medium-energy guy and will nap while you get some work done.

He's a happy guy and will make a wonderful companion.
