Perryville Police Officers enjoy a supportive command staff and proactive work environment. We offer a generous benefits package, now with a new pension plan.

With state of the art equipment, advanced training, and opportunities for placement into specialty units that similarly sized agencies do not offer, we have a career path for you.

The members of the Perryville Police FOP wish to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Mayor Linkey, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Snelling, Commissioner Hall, Commissioner Jeric, and town administrator George Patchell.

At this evening’s town hall meeting, the board voted unanimously to adopt a defined benefit pension plan for town employees, including the police department. Since the police department’s inception in 2004, officers have worked without a structured pension plan. This is a standard benefit that most law enforcement organizations provide their personnel and is crucial for long term retention and recruitment of quality police officers. In 22 years, 29 officers have come through our doors and departed to other agencies for better pay, better benefits, and better opportunities. As the call volume and operational tempo for the department continues to climb, the importance of maintaining a professional, well-trained, highly capable workforce cannot be ignored.

Tonight, the elected board, supported by the town administrator, made a decision that will help the department remain competitive, attract experienced officers, and retain our existing staff for years to come. We thank them for their continued support and more importantly, their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our town residents.

Everytime we remove the mourning bands from our badges, we are forced to put them right back on. Once again, we are faced with another act of violence toward law enforcement, this time right on our doorstep in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Corporal Timothy O’Connor, who was shot and killed during a traffic stop yesterday. We mourn alongside the men and women of the Pennsylvania State Police and ask that you please take a moment to pray for Corporal O’Connor’s family, friends, and fellow Troopers.

Congratulations Detective Lenzi!

Please join us in congratulating Detective Lenzi for being named Perryville’s 2025 police officer of the year. Through countless hours of hard work and tenacity, he successfully investigated a multitude of crimes committed here in Perryville. Some of these investigations were very complex and spanned over the course of several months. Detective Lenzi’s efforts ensured that criminal offenders would be held accountable and victims would receive the justice they deserve.

His work didn’t stop there. Parallel to his duties as a Detective, he also filled in for patrol shifts, often working nights and weekends. This was done to ensure the police department maintained adequate staffing. He stepped up without hesitation.

Detective Lenzi continues to demonstrate his commitment to the department and the residents of Perryville. He is an asset to your Perryville Police Department.

Please keep our brothers and sisters in your prayers.

For the last seven years, officers from the Perryville Police Department have received this award. Despite the ever growing call volume and increased work load placed on them, these officers still prioritize proactive enforcement to keep our streets safe. This just further highlights the importance of retaining well-trained, experienced, professional police officers capable of quality work.

Well done Officer Huffstutler and Officer Peterson!
