As alumni, our bond to PHS is defined by our motto: Come back, give back, belonging always.

Right now, "giving back" means building a modern, safe facility that will serve Pirate families for generations. Because of this, the Perryville High School Alumni Association Board officially stands in full support of Proposition K.I.D.S.

This August 4 ballot proposal is the key to funding a brand-new home for PHS. It’s our chance to ensure that future generations of Pirates have a place where they feel they truly belong.

Election Day is August 4, but absentee voting is open right now. We hope you join us in voting YES! Let's build the future together!

Today, crews began heavy exterior demolition on the Perryville High School building. Work started on the east side facing Pirate Stadium.

While we lost the use of this building to the tornado over a year ago, watching the physical walls come down is a an emotional milestone for our community. But it is also a vital, necessary step forward. In the weeks ahead, crews will clear a path for the future where we can build a modern, safe facility that will serve our families for years to come.

Proposition K.I.D.S. is the District’s August 4 ballot proposal that would provide the funding to build a new home for PHS. Election day is August 4, but absentee voting is open now.

As part of our ongoing tornado recovery efforts, demolition will begin on Perryville High School on July 13th due to structural issues building wide.

It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to a building that has held our memories since 1956 . But while the tornado took the structure, it can never take the legacy of the alumni who walked its halls.

We worked hard to salvage pieces of the school that resonate with our alumni community as a symbol of our resilience. We have been told the paver garden will be protected and will remain in place. Purchasing pavers is on hold until it’s safe to continue.

The ladies who played for Coach Wunderlich from 1982-1996 are having a reunion a June 27th.

As alumni, it’s hard to watch the end of an era. The halls and walls that held so many of our favorite traditions, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable moments may look different now, but the memories we made there will always remain.

While it brings a wave of sadness to close this chapter, we are filled with hope for what lies ahead. Our future alumni deserve a safe, modern school to call their own. A place where they can build their own legacies and make their own lasting memories.

The heart of our community has always been our people, not just the brick and mortar. Right now, our district and the next generation of students need our support more than ever. Let’s stand together, honor our past, and help pave the way for a brighter future. 🤍💚🏴‍☠️

Celebrating Our 2026 Pirate Legacy Scholarship Recipients!

We are thrilled to announce this year’s recipients of the $500 Pirate Legacy Scholarships! Both of these incredible graduating seniors have shown outstanding leadership, dedication, and a true commitment to BELONGING ALWAYS to the Pirate family. 🏴‍☠️

To qualify, each applicant submitted their application and two letters of recommendation—one from a PHS alumnus and one from a professional or academic affiliate.

Join us in congratulating our winners:

💚 Allyson Burns

GPA: 4.0
Future Plans: Attending College of the Ozarks to major in Nursing.
PHS Highlights: FFA Chapter President, NHS Vice-President, Student Council Executive Board Vice President, and Varsity Volleyball Co-Captain. Allyson has spent countless hours giving back through Ag Ed on the Move, church service, and school beautification.

🤍 Waylon Huber

GPA: 3.8
Future Plans: Attending Mineral Area College to major in Business Management with plans to pursue real estate.
PHS Highlights: Student Council Executive Board President, NHS President, and multi-sport Varsity Captain (Soccer & Basketball). Waylon helped lead PHS to become a Special Olympics Unified Champion School and serves as the Marketing Director for the Midwest Legacy Soccer Club.

Thank you to our scholarship committee, our alumni, and our teachers for supporting the next generation of leaders. Allyson and Waylon, we are so proud of you and cannot wait to see how you continue to give back to your professional fields, school, and community.
