One option to purchase your 2024 market lamb is through the lamb pool. The Sheep & Swine Committee finds the lambs and distributes them to members through a predetermined process. Cost is current market price per pound.

When verifying Ohio State Fair entries, the Extension Office will now have to verify possession date. So, If you are taking a market beef project to the OHIO STATE FAIR, you must have your animal identified in your 4Honline profile by the State Fair's possession deadline of January 1! Other animals will also have to be identified in 4Honline by the posted deadline for that species--see 4-H newsletter.

Pre-Vet Day is for high school seniors who are interested in becoming a veterinarian! This event is an opportunity for you to tour the Veterinary Medical Center learning facilities on Ohio Stateโ€™s campus and to learn more about the undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences and the Ohio State admissions process. This event will include:

โ€ข Tours of the food animal, equine, and companion animal areas
โ€ข Interactions with current veterinary students and veterinarians
โ€ข Overview of the undergraduate Animal Sciences major in CFAES
โ€ข Undergraduate admissions overview
โ€ข Optional CFAES campus tour

Jr. FAIR ENTRY DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, AUGUST 11!! ALL Jr. fair entries must be submitted by August 11.
MARKET RABBIT Exhibitors, this applies to you as well! Although some market rabbits may not be tattooed yet, you will complete your market rabbit fair entry following the guidance on page 1 of the fair entry instructions under the heading RABBITS. Links to Fair Entry website and instructions are found in our 4-H email newsletter, as well as a previous post on this page.

Make sure you receive an email confirmation of your approved invoice for your fair entries. If you don't, log back in and review your entries. There are many pending invoices that have not been submitted for approval and some that have been sent back for incomplete information. August 11th entry deadline is quickly approaching!
