We are all One Big Community, so the Peosta IA Optimist Service Club ("The Flag Guys") is asking, if you're able to help those in Lena IL who had massive tornado damage last week, please donate $$$ or drop off anything in the way of food, eater, clothing, etc, to Resource United on JFK Rd, an incredible DBQ company whose goal is lift up those in great need!

Just as we were being informed of the tornado that struck the town of Lena, our good friend Fred Bonnet from Fried Green Tomatoes reached out. "The people in Lena need help, let's get something going right now." -Fred.

Fred has been in contact with friends, family members and others in Lena to best understand the need. They need water, food and other supplies. Pallets of water are around $260. Our plan is fill our RU truck as many times as possible with pallets of water, food and other supplies and get the first truckload on the ground in Lena tomorrow. (Sunday)

The team at Fried Green have already raised enough to fill the first truck in just the past 2 hours! Incredible! Let's keep it going though. There's a lot of need.

Hey Cool Peosta Residents, the only local Youth Service Club, your Peosta Optimist Club is able to accept Flag sign ups now until next Monday, April 27!!

Our annual basketball clinic was held Saturday, Feb 14 at the Peosta Community Center. We had 41 participants! Many thanks to those who participated, and to our Optimist “coaches”. The Optimist club plans and sponsors youth activities in our community. Congratulations to those students whose names were drawn for free Optimist basketballs!

Salute to America Flag Program

Here is your chance to lend your support to America, our Veterans, and your local community. For $50 a year, Western Dubuque Band, the Peosta Troop 5 Scouts, and the Peosta Optimist Club serve the community by placing flags in our neighborhoods and at businesses on five holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day. Proceeds go toward serving the youth of our area… T-ball, soccer, and basketball clinics, annual bike rodeo, and we donate annually to the Peosta police department, rec center and six local schools.

You are invited to show your patriotism by subscribing to this program for the year 2026 by contacting our club president. Please also consider getting involved in our mission - supporting youth.

🎉 Thank You, Peosta Optimist Club! 🎉

The Peosta Optimist Club generously donated $250 to Drexler today! The funds will be used to purchase supplies for our "Bobcat Clubs"! 🐾 Every Friday, our students get to explore their interests by joining a "Bobcat Club" of their choice — and this donation helps make those experiences possible.

The Optimist Club continues to support our youth by annually donating to local schools, and we are so grateful for their generosity and support!

One way the Peosta Optimist Club supports youth in our community is by donating annually to our (6) local schools. Here you see pictures of Peosta Optimist Club members handing checks to representatives from Peosta Seton Catholic Elementary, Peosta Elementary, Epworth Elementary, Farley Seton Catholic Middle School, Farley Elementary, and Farley Drexler Middle School. We are proud supporters of our schools!
