From your Peosta Optimist Club, The Peosta Flag Guys,

To all our terrific (806) Peosta flag customers, our Peosta Club and our Partners, Peosta Scouts Troop 5 and Western DBQ High School Band started putting flags up this afternoon for the Fourth Holiday, but then the rain, storm and possible lightning made us stop !!! Safety 1st!!

We'll try to finish putting them up Friday, weather permitting!

Our annual T ball clinic was held on Saturday, June 6. Twenty two four to six year olds participated and practiced hitting off the T, throwing and catching. Thanks to our Optimist volunteers and all who attended. Our next event will be our soccer clinic - Saturday, August 8, 9:30-10:30. These events are just one way that we support the youth of our community.

Thanks to ALL Our Peosta Optimist Club's Flag Program Customers for your tremendous support for our Club's Youth Events and donations to our (6) K-8 Schools in Peosta, Epworth and Farley!!

You have increased up our Flags Flyin' at Peosta Homes and Businesses in 2026 to over (800) flags, which is generating $40,000 in fundraising for Area Youth!!

Happy Memorial Day weekend, Peosta, and thank you for your support for our Salute to America flag program and for our veterans. Between the WD band, the Scouts and the Peosta Optimist Club, we put up about 800 flags in our community this morning. Of that 800, 148 are brand new customers. We love to see all the flags flying!

We are all One Big Community, so the Peosta IA Optimist Service Club ("The Flag Guys") is asking, if you're able to help those in Lena IL who had massive tornado damage last week, please donate $$$ or drop off anything in the way of food, eater, clothing, etc, to Resource United on JFK Rd, an incredible DBQ company whose goal is lift up those in great need!
Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Just as we were being informed of the tornado that struck the town of Lena, our good friend Fred Bonnet from Fried Green Tomatoes reached out. "The people in Lena need help, let's get something going right now." -Fred.

Fred has been in contact with friends, family members and others in Lena to best understand the need. They need water, food and other supplies. Pallets of water are around $260. Our plan is fill our RU truck as many times as possible with pallets of water, food and other supplies and get the first truckload on the ground in Lena tomorrow. (Sunday)

The team at Fried Green have already raised enough to fill the first truck in just the past 2 hours! Incredible! Let's keep it going though. There's a lot of need.

Hey Cool Peosta Residents, the only local Youth Service Club, your Peosta Optimist Club is able to accept Flag sign ups now until next Monday, April 27!!
