We’re excited to launch our 2nd Annual Youth Summer Program from June 30–July 26, in partnership with Day Treatment Students from Peoria School District!

Special thanks to Mrs. Lorraine Washington and Ms. Erica Miller for supporting our Executive Director in leading this impactful program again this year! 💛

Created by Co-Founder Corine Barnes, the program uses an evidence-based curriculum to boost youth emotional intelligence by 20%, with support from Burnside Bro’s Construction. 🙌🏽
We’ll wrap up with a Back-to-School Celebration at our second location inside Tyng Middle School! 🎉

Since losing funding in January, we've kept our lights on, fed the community, and stayed cool — all thanks to your continued support and our new leadership team.

We are honored to host an impactful event at House of Hope Peoria, Inc.—a Men’s Mental Health Support Group created and led by the phenomenal Kay Woods, a true advocate for healing and reentry support in our community.

This special group, designed specifically for returning citizens, is part of Kay Woods’ ongoing mission to provide safe spaces for men to process, connect, and grow. Her commitment to uplifting the voices and mental health of men in Peoria is nothing short of inspiring.

This Survivor Rights Week, we proudly recognize Ms. Rachel Parker, a mother whose son, Ryan Greenwood, was tragically taken by gun violence in Peoria, IL. Despite the heartbreak, Rachel continues to fight for justice and uplifts other grieving mothers with her strength, faith, and resilience.

Her youngest daughter, Riley Greenwood, has transformed her pain into purpose by launching Siblings in SYNC (SIS) — a powerful support group created for siblings grieving the loss of a loved one, whether through violence or other life-changing events. Riley's work reminds us that sibling grief matters too.

💜 Join us as we honor Rachel and Riley Greenwood for their commitment to healing, advocacy, and keeping Ryan’s memory alive.

This Survivor Rights Week, we stand in awe of Ms. Nijja Shanell, a mother whose life was forever changed when her son was tragically taken last year while visiting from college, right in front of his younger brother. The pain of this loss is unimaginable, yet Ms. Nijja continues to rise, advocating for other survivors and sharing her story with grace and strength.

Her powerful journey took her to the CSSJ March in Washington DC, where she proudly stood with other survivors, and where her son was the youngest in attendance. His memory and her unwavering faith are a beacon of hope to so many.

We recognize and celebrate Ms. Nijja’s strength, faith, and balance as she continues to heal, all while providing a loving example for her remaining children.

This Survivor Rights Week, we honor the life and memory of Kevin Burnside, whose legacy continues to inspire hope, healing, and change in our community.

In loving remembrance, we celebrate his life and the strength of his mother, Ms. Ida Lee, whose courage helped ignite a movement. Her resilience inspired Kevin’s brother, Terry Burnside, to become the Founder of House of Hope Peoria, Inc., supporting survivors of gun violence, sexual assault, and domestic violence across Peoria.

💜 Let Kevin’s legacy remind us that from pain, purpose can rise—and healing is possible.
