Goodwill of Central Illinois

Special thanks to 25News WEEK for their coverage of our annual Stand Down for Veterans event. Thank you for spreading the word and for helping us support our Veterans and community.

More than 250 veterans gathered at the Goodwill Commons in Peoria to receive support, gather supplies and have a meal.

🇺🇸 Supporting Veterans starts with a place to call home.

In May 2005, Goodwill Industries of Central Illinois opened the Wayne A. Downing Home for Veterans, a 15-bedroom facility providing intensive, holistic support tailored to each individual’s needs.

The program combines stable housing with individualized services designed to help veterans address barriers, build stability, and work toward meaningful change.

The Wayne A. Downing Home for Veterans is considered permanent supportive housing and is the only facility of its kind in Illinois.
