Just left Reddog’s House. His Brother allowed us to come by to see if we wanted any of his equipment before he had an Estate Sale. A local musician and music store owner was actually in his will to have first choice, but we’re grateful for what we received! Reddog was one of the nicest humans on the Planet and we are Blessed to know him!

What a nice family! I met Bonnie, the mother of Trey, at an Estate Sale a couple weeks ago. I found a Trumpet that I was going to purchase. I walked away from it to look at something else and she was looking at it. I asked her if she played trumpet. She said no she was looking for one for her son. I couldn’t discuss it in front of the estate people so I waited till she came outside. I told her I would like to help and told her I’d like to give it to her son. I explained that that is what we do with Keeping Music Alive. Needless to say, she was surprised and very appreciative. Last night they came out and listened to my band and after our set we were able to give it to him. The look on his face is why we started Keeping Music Alive! This is what your donations will allow us to do. Musicians, if you have instruments you’re no longer using, please reach out to us so we can give them to someone who can use them. If you’d like to donate financially you can contact us or go to our website!

We were able to give this young man a nice Yamaha Trumpet last night! He’s 14 and going to high school this year. He’s practicing with the band this summer and they no longer have to rent a horn!

We went to an Estate Sale today. I went Thursday to contact them to let them know about Keeping Music Alive. The deceased owner had a lot of instruments. I asked if there was any way they could consider donating some to us. It was too late but they asked me to come back today at the end of the sale. All they had left was an Acoustic Guitar, a Flute, and a Trumpet. The guitar was overpriced, the flute was inexpensive, and The Trumpet was overpriced but since it was the end of the Sale, they only charged us one third of what they were asking. I walked away for a minute before checking out. I came back to the room and a lady was looking at the Trumpet. I asked her if she played. She said no it was for her 14 year old son. I felt bad but decided to approach her after she came out of the house. I told her about KMA and told her I would give it to her son. She was ecstatic to say the least. He’s going to West Florida High this year and switched from Sax to Trumpet so he could be in the Marching Band. They have been leasing his instrument so this will be a Blessing to them! Glad we’re able to help! 🎺🎺🎺🎺
