Family Care Council Area 1 Family Care Council Area 1 helps educate our local community and serves as a resource while promotin Business Council Meetings - 3rd Thursday of the month.

Family Care Council Area 1 consists of the western most counties in the Florida Panhandle: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS FAMILY CARE COUNCIL:
• Assist in providing information and outreach to families.
• Review the effectiveness of service programs and make recommendations with respect to program implementation.
• Advise the agency with respect to policy issues relev

ant to the community and family support system in the local area.
• Meet and share information with other local family care councils. The Family Care Council may have up to fifteen (15) members appointed by the Governor. At least three of the members must be self-advocates and the remaining membership are parents, guardians or siblings of an
individual with a developmental disability eligible for APD services.

The Family Care council is seeking members to join, support, and advocate for families with disabilities. Seeking committee members, families and individuals with disabilities living in the panhandle of Florida.
We are looking to revamp the FCC council Area 1 by forming two new committee, One team involves recruiting membership for have future voting powers, and two, Community Partners team to help our families connect to area resources and information through out the Panhandle of Florida.
