Today, on Overdose Awareness Day, we honor and remember the precious lives lost to overdose, stand with those who are grieving, and celebrate the hope of recovery.

We are grateful to be part of a community that works to destigmatize addiction by offering compassion, support, and understanding. Addiction does not define a person, and recovery is possible.

Together, we can bring hope, break the stigma, and shine a light for those we have lost and for those still fighting for a new beginning. 💜

🧠💚 Mental Health Matters at Charis House 💚🧠

We believe recovery is about more than just getting sober—it’s about healing the whole person. That includes our mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Today, we’re adding some new mental health posters throughout Charis House to remind our ladies that their feelings matter, their mental health matters, and they are never alone in the healing process.

Sometimes a simple reminder on the wall can speak directly to a heart that needs it. 💕

At Charis House, we want to create an environment where women feel safe to learn, grow, process, and heal—one day at a time.

A Light in the Darkness 🕯️

Charis House was honored to attend the Bring It to the Light event in DeFuniak Springs, remembering those we have lost to addiction and overdose and bringing awareness to the lives still impacted by substance use.

One moment that held such special meaning for us was watching the Director’s son hold a light in remembrance. His name carries the legacy of a family member who lost their life to addiction. ❤️

There was something incredibly powerful and symbolic about watching him hold that light—for someone he carries in his name, for those we have lost, and for the countless families still affected by addiction.

We remember. We honor. We bring it to the light. 🕯️

Thank you to everyone who continues to shine a light on this issue and remind our community that recovery is possible. 💜

There are so many stories being written within the walls of Charis House. Stories of healing, restored relationships, renewed faith, and women discovering that their past does not have to define their future.

And we don’t get to be part of those stories alone.

To every person who has prayed, given, volunteered, encouraged, or simply shared our mission with someone else: thank you.

Your support helps create a place where women can step away from the life they’ve known and begin the hard, beautiful work of building something new.
