Today’s Gift: Fresh Mercy and Purpose
Today’s Scripture
“This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24
Today’s Word
Yesterday is a memory and tomorrow is yet to be written—but today is a present.
We don't call it a gift because life is flawless; we call it a gift because God saw fit to wake us up for it. It’s easy to let a few heavy clouds convince us the sun isn’t shining, but if we dwell only on what’s wrong, we’ll step right over everything that is still right.
Gratitude is a lens. If you have breath in your lungs and the strength to strive, you have a miracle in your hands. You might not have reached every goal yet, but look closer: God has already tucked specific blessings into these twenty-four hours just for you.
Here is the most beautiful part: This day isn't just an empty calendar square; it is fully equipped. ✨It comes with fresh mercy (Lamentations 3:22-23).
• It carries new grace tailored for today’s specific hurdles.
• It provides strength that you didn’t have yesterday and won’t need until tomorrow.
When the Psalmist says, "We will rejoice," it’s a decision of the will. Our joy isn’t anchored in how we feel or what the headlines say; it’s anchored in the Character of the One who created the day. This day has infinite value simply because it was authored by Him.
Happy Thursday!
Prayer for Today
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the breath in my lungs and the grace that meets me this morning. Open my eyes to the subtle blessings I often overlook and help me trade my frustration for a heart of gratitude. Teach me that my joy doesn't have to depend on my circumstances, but on Your unchanging goodness. I choose to rejoice in You today.
By thy name Jesus, amen.
