We’re back — with a lot to celebrate and be thankful for! It’s been a VERY full start to the year for Haven of Hope, and we’ve got some catching up to do, friends! 💛
A new school year began in Zambia in January, and in Uganda this month. And our Ugandan kids kicked off theirs with an eagerly awaited Christmas celebration!
Although their party is usually in January, this year it was a bit delayed due to unrest surrounding Uganda’s presidential election, which also postponed the start of school. Thankfully the students were able to gather and celebrate a couple weeks ago.
Each of the kids received a beautiful new outfit along with other fun, useful, and sweet Christmas gifts, which they loved. Their teachers were also blessed with new dresses and shirts. And all enjoyed a special meal with posho, pilau, beef, chicken, soda, and cake! 🎉
The Christmas party also doubled as a graduation ceremony for our students moving from nursery into primary school. So you’ll see some proud little ones in caps and gowns in these photos! 🎓
This is always a joyful way to begin the new school year. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who sponsor these kids and gave generously to bless them with a party and gifts. You bring them so much encouragement and joy!
