Orange cat season is apparently upon us 🧡😂 We trapped THREE orange boys this week, and while we’re pretty sure they didn’t coordinate this, they certainly kept us busy!

Every cat we trap requires care and supplies. If you’d like to help us keep going, we could use donations of:

🐱 Wet and Dry Cat food
🐾 Puppy pads
🧼 Cleaning supplies
🥣 Paper plates and paper bowls
💵 Monetary donations

At SAFE, we know that pets are family. For survivors of domestic violence, concerns about a beloved pet’s safety can be a major barrier to leaving an abusive situation.

We are working to build a stronger network of local resources and community partners we can turn to when a survivor reaches out and has concerns about what will happen to their pet.

We are looking to connect with local animal shelters, rescue organizations, veterinarians, boarding facilities, foster networks, pet supply organizations, groomers, trainers, and individuals who may be interested in connecting with SAFE to explore ways our community can support survivors and their pets when assistance is needed.

Together, we can help ensure that no survivor has to choose between their own safety and the safety of a beloved pet. 🐾💜

Today is International Homeless Animals’ Day 🐾

We were so happy to spend the day at Tri-county Animal Rescue Center, Pennsylvania’s event, sharing what we do and talking about how TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) can help prevent the cycle of homeless cats!

Every cat we spay or neuter means fewer kittens being born outside, fewer cats entering already-full shelters, and a healthier, more stable community cat population.

Since March, we’ve helped 70 cats get spayed or neutered. Now, we’re working toward our next milestone:

Help us reach 100 cats!

Whether you donate, volunteer, help us spread the word, or simply learn more about TNR, you’re helping us make a difference for cats in our community 🧡

Even with rain, unexpected thunderstorms, and a few skunk encounters, it was a successful week for CCIG!

Five cats took a trip to the vet and one sweet tortie kitten will have the chance to find her forever home.

We met some wonderful new residents who take amazing care of the community cats around their home and are so happy to begin a new partnership with Jefferson Animal Clinic!

Join Tri-county Animal Rescue Center, Pennsylvania and Lost In The Wilds Brewing for a fun afternoon benefiting local homeless cats and dogs! 🐾

CCIG will be there with a table, and we’re excited to introduce ourselves, share more about who we are, and talk about our TNR efforts in the Clarion Borough!

A big thank you to Tri-County Animal Rescue Center and Lost in the Wilds Brewing for putting this event together and inviting us to join! We hope you’ll stop by and say hello 🧡

Remember to stop by and visit us this Saturday at Lost In The Wilds Brewing ! We will have several of our adorable and adoptable dogs there to say hi!

We wanted to make a little appreciation post for the folks who step up for the animals even when those around them fall flat.

We know you didn't ask for a random cat to be dumped on your property.

We know all the local shelters are full.

We know you really don't have the money to spare.

Yet, you stepped up to the plate and got that abandoned cat fixed.

Every stray cat surrendered with an ear tip, missing family jewels, or spay tattoo is a reminder that there are good people out there. You took responsibility for an animal you didn't ask for, and you cared enough for your community to get the animal fixed so it didn't add to the overpopulation problem plaguing our communities.

We know this handsome guy is likely a community cat, but we also think he has the personality to thrive as an indoor companion. Before we make any plans to get him off the streets, we want to make absolutely sure he isn’t someone’s missing or outdoor pet. If you recognize him or know where he belongs, please let us know!
