Hey everyone, tomorrow is the night! Part 1 of our Housing Forum is on tap for a phenomenal presentation and conversation about the housing problems we face in Yates County. We hope you will be able to attend. If you can’t, please be watching for the videotape of the night’s event soon to be posted on this page.

Hello, Yates County residents! The YCCC is pleased to present our program on housing, Part 1, on Thursday, May 28th. This promises to be a robust conversation on the problems our county faces with the housing shortage, as presented by our panel of experts. Bring your questions. Don’t miss this important event!

Good morning, Yates County. The YCCC is pleased to announce our next forum, which will be presented in a two-part series:

Part 1: “A Yates Conversation: Impact on Housing; What’s the Problem?”

Part 2: “A Yates Conversation: Impact on Housing; What’s the Solution?"

Part 1 will be held on Thursday, May 28th, 6-8 PM at the Penn Yan Fire Hall on Elm Street, Penn Yan. There is plenty of free parking in the adjacent municipal lot and elevator access to the second floor location. Once again, our master moderator Mike Rusinko, our sound guru Dave Boyd, and our videotape techie Courtaney Craig have graciously offered their expertise to bring you a fascinating program. The videotape of the forum will be made available on this website for those of you who cannot attend.

We look forward to welcoming you to this important Yates conversation and will provide more details within the next few weeks. Bring your questions and a friend!

Tonight’s the night! Please come and learn a little more about the village candidates running for election to the Penn Yan Village Board. The election is next Wednesday, March 18th.

Parking is available in the municipal lot behind the fire department. There is an elevator to the second floor venue located near the side door entrance. Light refreshments will be served. Please be prepared to ask the candidates your questions, either publicly or written (pencil/paper will be provided). We look forward to seeing you tonight, and wish to thank Dave Boyd for providing sound and the PYFD for use of their hall.

Hello again! Just a quick update; we have had questions from folks living outside the village who would like to attend the forum on 3/12. Please come! The PY firehall is clearly large enough to accommodate everyone. We don’t expect to have to turn anyone away. So if you are interested, there’s a seat for you. Thank you!

Hi everyone, especially Village of Penn Yan residents. The YCCC can confirm that the program scheduled for Thursday,, March 12th, “Village Candidates Forum” will be held at the Penn Yan Fire Department on Elm St, Penn Yan. The program will begin at 6PM and we are fortunate once again to have the very capable Dave Boyd running our sound. Many thanks to the fire department for the use of their upstairs conference room. Parking will be available in the adjacent lot. Bring your questions for the candidates!

Good morning, Yates County! We have late-breaking news.

SAVE THE DATE! On March 12 at 6PM, we are hosting a special event for all Penn Yan Villagers to hear from the candidates running for elected positions on the Penn Yan Village Board. Here are the candidates:

Mayor: Dan Condella, Leigh MacKerchar, Pat Christensen, Dan Irwin

Trustee (3 positions open): Teresa Hoban, Ron Dailey, Bob Craig, Bill Wigsten

We will give time for each candidate to present their platforms followed by questions from the audience. Attendees will be given a 3x5 card upon which to submit their questions to our moderator, Klaas Martens. Attendees may also submit questions in the comments below, or to this email address:

We encourage all village residents to attend and learn more about the candidates. If you are not a village resident, you are more than welcome to attend!
