On this day 15 years ago, we received a call no one wanted to receive. It took our breath away, enraged us, saddened us, dispaired us, challenged us, and shook us to the core. From that day, this foundation rose to help other families in the same situation. We continue on, still helping those in need, with a special concentration on first responders and dispatchers in Shelby County. We can always use your help! Donate here.

Help us continue to support first responders and their families by donating to the Philip Mahan Davis Foundation now. The Foundation provides financial support to families of first responders that are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

Ten years.

Ten years ago tonight, Philip Davis came to work, just like he did every night, except this time, he didn't go home to his family.

Philip was shot during a traffic stop on the side of I65 late December 3rd. He died just after midnight, December 4th.

He was murdered, just for doing his job. His family's lives changed forever that night. So did ours.

This community rallied around our department as we grieved the loss of Philip. The relationships that were formed are stronger than ever. We consider ourselves fortunate to serve such a supportive community.

Please join us as we remember our fallen brother. A wreath-laying ceremony is planned for Wednesday, December 4th in the lobby of police headquarters. The wreath will be delivered at 4:00 p.m. by a police es**rt, so you'll want to arrive a little earlier.

Philip may be gone, but he will never be forgotten. We miss you 11063.

Hard-working fireman and Elks volunteers have been up very early this morning slow smoking the barbeque for sandwiches tomorrow. We may even have some whole Boston Butts for sale!
