ATTENTION TAZEWELL COUNTY RESIDENTS!
PACK THE MEETING - North Pekin, Monday June 8 @ 6pm - Village Hall, 206 Lincoln Blvd.

We need residents to show up & let the Village of North Pekin know you do not want the former AMC Theater turned into a data center facility.

We ask for NO ZONING CHANGES to the theater property without the new property owner completing an INDEPENDENT COMMUNITY IMPACT STUDY.

WHAT WE KNOW:
* The former AMC Theater was purchased in Dec 2025
* New owner is North 52, LLC from Indiana
* IT Company with contract ties to Microsoft and Google
* Existing size of building = ~44,000sq ft
* Hyperscale facility is classified as larger than 10,000sq ft
* Total lot size is 18 acres; City of Pekin owns adjacent property of 29 acres
* Hyperscale needs 40 acres minimum for cooling & generator space

Our FB Live Event scheduled for tomorrow May 13 is currently postponed due to the latest information from the City Council last night.

We are revising our next steps and will have more information for you at a future date. Thank you for your continued support & our combined hard work to stop the data center project proposed in Pekin.

Please continue to monitor the situations in Logan County, McLean County, and Delavan as our greater community needs your voices!

Many have asked about a lawyer to push back on the Pekin Data Center Project. A law firm is retained.

Central Illinois Data Center Opposition has retained an attorney, Phillips and Bathke, who has extensive experience fighting other land use situations, such as wind and solar farms, pipelines, electric transmission lines.

As they state we can share information publicly on their progress, we will do so in a timely manner.

* The contract with WHP was for a land option not a finalized property sale
* The council should not buy more land without clearing current loans
* The community will demand staff and council resignations if the data center continues

Meet the CIDCO team at Pekin Library, 6pm

As the Town Hall by the City was cancelled, come join the non-profit team committed to end the Pekin data center and fight against any projects in Central Illinois.

Our collective voices are needed to end the Pekin development contract and this can be a time to organize our next steps.

* Continued Efforts & Future Goals

Meeting Notice: City of Pekin Budget Meeting

--> Topic: “Budget Work Session Special Council Meeting”
--> Public Input is on the agenda
--> Executive Session will be called
--> Presentations may or may not be public

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND THIS MEETING?
The General Fund for Personnel & Legal Expenses are climbing with proposals of 25% pay increases being discussed by some members of the council.

Math is hard, let us speak up and let the city know where your tax dollars should be allocated.

CIDCO supports transparency of your tax dollars by the City of Pekin and for citizens to become more actively engaged with the City Council processes and procedures.

As the City of Pekin has officially cancelled their Town Hall meeting at PCHS on March 24, we decided to take this opportunity to host a meeting on the same date. Meet your non-profit team members as we answer your questions about the dangers of data centers and discuss future steps to protect Pekin.
