Treasurer Gordy Dirksen presented Amani Boyd, one of our scholarship recipients, with her $1000 check prior to the Memorial Day service at Sumner Park today. Amani will be attending the U of I studying accounting. Good luck Amani!!

It is with a sad heart that we announce that our friend and fellow Rotarian, Pastor Nord Swanstrom, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026. Pastor Nord was a past President of the Pecatonica Rotary Club and held many positions in District 6420. He was a Paul Harris Fellow and reached the Major Donor Level a few years ago. Pastor Nord was passionate about the Rotary Foundation and Rotary's "service above self" motto. He will be missed by the whole community. Rest in Peace.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 at McCorckle's Funeral Home, 203 W. Fifth St., Pecatonica, IL with the Celebration of Life scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 627 Taylor St, Pecatonica, IL. We are very grateful for all of our supporters who purchased our Breakfast Boxes to support the High School Scholarships we offer each year. Melissa McCormick, District Governor, is one such supporter and pictured here. We are sure that many households have enjoyed some delicious breakfasts recently. Rotarian Mary Osborn received her 5th level Paul Harris pin representing a cumulative total of her donating $5000 to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund, which funds the District Annual Grants. Rotarian Sue Schomber received her third level Paul Harris pin. In years past, the Pec Rotary Club has used this grant money to plant trees at Sumner Park, have installed animal and plant signage at the Pec Wetlands just north of town and this year made a $5000 Donation to the Pec Playhouse Capitol Campaign!!

If you are interested in seeing what we are all about, we meet at the Pec Library the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at noon. Lunch is provided.
