Tom Arnott, GM of GolfSudbury in Ontario, was staring down a 7,000-round gap between bookings and rounds played. The fix was to require a credit card for all bookings and charge no-shows. Operators know this can work well to change golfer behavior, but it also triggers chargebacks.

That number is the whole point of municipal golf. Four public courses, run by a Park District whose priority is access, not revenue. Every tee time that goes unused because of a phantom booking or a no-show is a resident who didn't get to play.

Fargo's tee sheet was being gamed. Golfers booked the same time at multiple courses and decided later which to play. Others booked a foursome to lock in a time they intended to play as a twosome.

In their first four months with Noteefy, paired with a new no-show policy that became enforceable through Confirm, 2,903 of those rounds got refilled automatically at a 75% recapture rate.
