Today is “Giving Tuesday” and social media is exploding with requests from a multitude of organizations. As I contemplate my giving schedule for this month, I am thinking again about why I always give a large gift to EVUSA. It is not simply that I am the Board Member charged with raising funds for this organization—the fact is that I really love Equestrian Vaulting and I am assured that my annual gift goes directly to the support of vaulters, clubs, and vaulting horse owners.
Giving is one of this sport’s hallmark values. Undoubtedly, we have all seen this giving in action. For example: Coaches, lungers and horse owners who drive hours and hours to far-flung competition venues, who field phone calls and texts at all hours from their students, who ensure their horses get their necessary supplements, injections, body work and correct riding; vaulters who attend to their equine partners in and out of class, who boost one another onto barrels and horses, who load-in and load-out, feed, water and muck out at shows; parents who rake arenas and dump manure, who volunteer at competitions, who keep the team fed and hydrated. And, in and out of the competition arena, here in USA and abroad—and sometimes very much on the fly—we make our horses available to the vaulters that need them. Without exception, we are all Givers in this sport.
With this in mind, I encourage you to give to the EVUSA’s annual campaign. Your gift—be it $10 or $1000—will be matched $2 for $1 by our matching donors. And, special for this year, gifts of $100 or more will be mailed a 2026 Calendar featuring photographs of vaulting in 2025! Here's a link to donate: https://equestrianvaulting.org/donate/ Vault On!
