✨ Ministry Moment Recap ✨

Yesterday, I concluded the “Joy Challenge” series with Rev. James King and the United Christian Church - DOC family. Sharing from Philippians 4:6-7, my message, “Joy That Defeats Worry,” emphasized:
1️⃣ Prayer Over Panic
2️⃣ Gratitude Over Grumbling
3️⃣ Trusting God’s Promises Over Problems

Paul’s words remind us that God’s peace defeats anxiety, empowering us to choose joy in every situation.

🙏 Call to Action
Bring your anxieties to God in prayer, embrace gratitude, and trust His promises. Let His joy guard your heart and mind!

✨ A Week in Review ✨

What a week! It’s been nonstop, but every moment has been filled with purpose, passion, and celebration.

Here’s a quick recap:
• Honored my play niece with a beautiful farewell and spent Sunday at church.
• Election Day was a true highlight, celebrating Commissioner Tara Stamps’ major victory with 86,000 votes! We followed up with festivities and celebrated our very own Madam Clerk Elect Monica Gordon.
• Kept the momentum rolling with blood drives, a turkey giveaway alongside Sis the Commish, and a special stop at Proviso East to congratulate Mr. Hull and the team on achieving a commendable status with ISBE.
• Joined the City of Chicago and Mayor Johnson for a festive Diwali celebration.
• Rounded it off with an unforgettable night at the Chicago Urban League’s Golden Fellowship Gala, surrounded by leaders dedicated to uplifting our communities.

All this while still working hard at Community Blood Center - Chicago and keeping things moving with T-Mobile. I’m living purpose, walking in passion, and resting in the glory of this season! 🌟

✨ I had the honor of attending The Chicago Urban League’s Golden Fellowship Dinner alongside the Chicago Teachers Union and the Honorable Commissioner Tara Stamps of the 1st District of Cook County. Representing the Community Blood Center of Chicago as Director of Community Engagement, and proudly wearing dual hats as the Commissioner’s Political Director, I joined over 2,300 cross-sector leaders to celebrate the League’s profound impact in our communities.

Congratulations to two inspiring honorees, Chicago State University President Z Scott, JD, and Dr. Carol Adams—trailblazers whose leadership has opened doors for so many.

A huge applause to President & CEO Karen Freeman-Wilson, the Board, and Gala Chair Toi Salter for raising an astounding $4 million! The League shines as a beacon of hope, advancing digital equity and empowering communities in education, business, and everyday life. Here’s to continued progress and partnership!

Even NOW, I trust GOD.

Let the record be clear: I stand by the minority, forever unapologetically Black and unashamedly Christian. I will never support or endorse any form of white nationalism disguised in Christianity, nor the oppressive mindsets of white patriarchy and colonialism that have divided these United States.

To the Black women who have been overlooked, unprotected, and disrespected in this country, I apologize. I stand with each of you—and I still stand with Vice President Kamala Harris, a Black woman who fought a damn GOOD fight. America may not have been ready for the real change she embodies, but I am. I am a product of both a Black man and a Black woman, and I will always support, uplift, and protect Black women.

Today, I had the honor to celebrate two phenomenal Black women who won in their fight. Congratulations to the Honorable Commissioner Tara Stamps of the 1st District and the Honorable Madam Clerk, Monica Gordon. Your victories are a triumph, and your leadership will make waves.

Let’s keep pushing forward, checking white supremacy and standing together in strength, pride, and resilience.
