Miners don't just get celebrated on Labor Day! Now you can get outside and dig into some real Park City history. ⛏️🥾🚲
Congratulations to Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History on the grand opening of the Historic Park City Mine Route! 🎉
This roughly seven-mile loop connects 24 historic sites from Main Street to Sweeney’s Switchbacks, the Silver King Mine Complex, and Empire Canyon, bringing Park City’s silver mining story to life through audio stories, historic photos, and interpretive signs along the way.
And there’s another story you’ll see as you explore.
When you hike or bike the route, you’ll see some conservation work along the way! Parts of the Historic Mine Route travel through lands protected by our friends Summit Land Conservancy so you’re learning about Park City’s past while experiencing protected open space today.
That’s something we can all keep celebrating. 🎉🌲⛏️
We can’t wait to hit the trail and dig a little deeper into Park City’s heritage!
Learn more and find the route at https://hmr.parkcityhistory.org

Senator Cory Booker was in Park City last night and two of the Pro-Active Alliance leaders were in the room. What they shared after hearing him speak is that Senator Booker is a very inspiring and thoughtful politician.

Two ideas he emphasized they heard loud and clear 1) don’t underestimate what an individual or small group of people can accomplish; and 2) don’t let your patriotism be diminished as a result of the current administration. The flag is for everyone and we should continue to be proud of its symbolism and the nation under which it flies. Our country’s ideals have been tested before, and it’s the people who come together and demand change that make the world more prosperous and better for all, rather than a government who decides what they think is best for the people.

He expressed hope for a future that revitalizes the middle class by investing in infrastructure, regulating against the excesses of big business and allowing for legal immigration to grow the economy.

He also joked that Democrats tend to be geeks, and the 50 point plan to save America just isn’t resonating with the populous. We need to meet people where they are by addressing rising costs, housing shortages, and even prison reform as a way of reducing crime.

Our takeaway? This is not about Democrat or Republican it is about regular ole you and me, our families, friends, neighbors and communities.

He is definitely someone to watch. Check out his book Stand if you have not already - we plan to get some copies and are sure there are many more pearls of wisdom to be found!

Senator Booker please visit Utah again soon!

Help Bring Fresh Food to Local Families
Thursday, August 6, 4:45 pm to 6:15 pm

The Christian Center of Park City's Mobile Food Pantry delivers fresh food and essential supplies directly to families in Summit and Wasatch counties who may not be able to access traditional food pantries. As food costs continue to rise, the need for this service is growing.

The Pro-Active Alliance is partnering with the PCCC to sponsor and staff an additional mobile food pantry drop at the EngineHouse Apartments in Park City.
Our goal is to raise $500 to provide fresh produce and recruit 6–8 volunteers to help unload the van, assist during distribution, and pack up afterward. Just a few hours of your time can make a difference for those experiencing food insecurity.

You can help:

Donate to help purchase fresh produce - any funds raised beyond our $500 goal will support future Mobile Food Pantry visits. Donate HERE. https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/mobile-food-pantry-2

Volunteer to serve alongside the Mobile Food Pantry director. Only a couple spots availalable! Sign up HERE. https://actionnetwork.org/events/august-6th-mobile-food-pantry?clear_id=true&source=direct_link
