🖤JINX CHOSE US 💜

A few months ago, someone dumped what we thought were five cats in our yard. Five turned into seven.

Since then, we’ve been feeding them, providing fresh water, and working tirelessly to trap each one so they can be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and given a chance at a safer life. So far, we had successfully trapped three, gotten them fixed and vaccinated, and released them back into the little group that has made our property their home.

And then something strange happened.

One of the tiniest cats in the group, a little black female who had always run from us, walked right up to me. She rubbed against my leg. I couldn’t believe it. I reached down, picked her up, and she simply let me. I thought, “Well, I guess we just “trapped” number four.”

But once I got her safely inside, I realized something wasn’t right.

Two large bones protruded from her lower back near the base of her tail, and her little belly looked suspiciously round. I immediately made a vet appointment, worried about both the deformity and the possibility that she was pregnant.

The news broke our hearts.

At only about six months old and five pounds, this tiny girl had apparently already survived being hit by a car. Her pelvis had been fractured or broken months ago, and because she received no medical care, her body did the only thing it could do. It healed itself. Unfortunately, it healed badly, leaving her pelvis permanently deformed.

And she was pregnant.

Because of the way her pelvis had fused and how incredibly small she is, our veterinarian believed she would likely be unable to deliver her kittens naturally. Attempting to carry the pregnancy to term could have cost both her life and the lives of her babies. She was estimated to be only about three weeks pregnant. So we made an incredibly difficult, but very clear, decision.

We chose her life.

Yesterday, Jinx was spayed and her pregnancy was terminated. She came through surgery beautifully and is now recovering here at Crystal Hollow, where we are tending to her every need. And despite everything humans and life have already thrown at this little girl, she is unbelievably sweet.

She purrs. She gives head boops. She leans into affection. She looks at us with those enormous green eyes like she has somehow decided that maybe humans aren’t so terrible after all.

I keep thinking about that moment in the yard. Why, after months of running from us, did she suddenly walk up and rub against my leg? Maybe it was coincidence. But part of me will always believe that somehow, Jinx knew she was in trouble. And for whatever reason, that day she decided to let her guard down and choose me.

So now, we choose her.

Jinx has had more hardship in her first six months of life than any little cat should ever experience. From this point forward, we hope her story looks very different. Safety. Full bowls. Warm beds. Gentle hands. Head boops. And the knowledge that she will never have to survive alone again.

🐾 MEET MEEMOW: A LITTLE FIGHTER WITH A BIG TEAM BEHIND HIM 🐾

Sometimes rescue takes a village—and little Meemow has reminded us just how lucky we are to have ours.

A wonderful woman recently contacted Crystal Hollow about an extremely thin kitten who was limping and desperately needed help. We suspect he may have been hit by a car—or, heartbreakingly, possibly thrown from one.

At the time, I was completely overwhelmed with work and wasn’t sure how I was going to manage another trapping situation. That’s when one of our volunteers, Tucker, stepped up.

Having never trapped on his own before, Tucker learned what he needed to do, met with the concerned woman, set and properly weatherproofed the trap, and took responsibility for the rescue. The next day, we got the call: the kitten was caught.

Tucker brought him home, and then Josie took the baton.

She brought Meemow to the vet, where we learned just how badly this tiny baby had been hurt. At approximately 6 weeks old and only 2 pounds, Meemow had a broken pelvis, a broken leg, and a dislocated jaw. His leg was set, he was given medication, and he was sent home for six weeks of strict confinement. At his recheck, we’ll find out whether his leg can be saved or if it will need to be amputated.

Since then, Josie has taken charge of his daily care—medications, feeding, monitoring, cleaning, and, just as importantly, teaching him that people can be safe.

The terrified little kitten who initially greeted us with hisses and bites has transformed into the sweetest, most loving little guy. Watching that transformation has been incredible.

And watching Tucker and Josie step so fully into the mission of Crystal Hollow has meant more to me than I can put into words. Rescue can be exhausting, and having people beside you who see something that needs to be done and simply say, “I’ve got it,” makes all the difference.

We couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of them both.

Tucker trapped him. Josie is helping heal him. And Meemow is doing the hardest job of all—fighting.

What a team.

We’ll continue to keep everyone updated on Meemow’s recovery and, in six weeks, we’ll know more about what the future holds for his little leg.

For now, he’s safe. He’s warm. He’s loved.

And he’s exactly where he needs to be.

From wayward to welcomed.

🚨 COURTESY POST – URGENT BOTTLE BABY FOSTER NEEDED 🚨

We’re asking our amazing community to help a young man who did everything right.

A kind young man found four tiny orphaned kittens at his job site in the Milton area and immediately stepped up. Instead of leaving them behind, he’s been bottle-feeding them, keeping them warm, and caring for them around the clock. Their eyes are just beginning to open, and thanks to his dedication, they’re doing wonderfully.

Crystal Hollow had planned to take them into foster care, but we unexpectedly lost our daytime bottle-feeder and simply cannot provide the around-the-clock care these babies need.

💜 We’re hoping someone experienced with bottle babies—or a rescue with available space—can help these little ones.

This man has been an incredible temporary caregiver, but these kittens need a long-term foster or rescue placement as soon as possible.

If you are able to help, or know someone who can, please message Crystal Hollow Sanctuary and we’ll connect you directly with the young man.

Let’s show him that he isn’t alone in trying to save these precious little lives. 🐾

Please share so we can reach the right person!

💔 HELP US HELP JEFFERY 💔

This sweet boy, Jeffery, is suffering from a painful skin condition that could be ringworm, mange, or another medical issue. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible so he can receive the treatment he deserves.

His owner loves him dearly but is struggling financially and doesn’t have reliable transportation.

Crystal Hollow Sanctuary is stepping in to help coordinate Jeffery’s veterinary care and provide transportation—we just need your help covering his medical expenses.

Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly toward his exam, testing, and treatment. If we receive more than Jeffery needs, any remaining funds will be used to help the next cat in need.

If you can’t donate, sharing this post could help Jeffery reach the person who can. 💜

🐾 Donations can be sent via CashApp or Venmo:

Together, we can give this sweet boy the chance to heal. Thank you for always standing behind Crystal Hollow and the cats who need us most. 🐈💜

💜 Courtesy Post: Five Little Lives Looking for Forever Homes 💜

These five precious kittens are looking for families to call their own. They didn’t ask to be born into this situation, but they deserve the chance to grow up knowing love, safety, and a home where they’ll be cherished.

Life happens, and sometimes people find themselves overwhelmed. Rather than judge, let’s come together as a community and help these babies find the futures they deserve.

🐾 Five kittens available
🐾 Sweet, playful, and ready to begin their next adventure
🐾 They would make wonderful companions for families looking to add a new furry member

Crystal Hollow is unable to take these kittens into our rescue at this time. We recently took in several foster kittens after trapping them ourselves, and all of our foster space is currently full.

However, we’re happy to serve as a bridge. If you’re interested in adopting one (or even two!), send Crystal Hollow a private message. We’ll connect you directly with the current owner so you can learn more and arrange a meeting.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post. Sometimes the perfect family is just one share away. 💜🐾

🔔 UPDATE: The owner is still looking for a home for this sweet girl! 🔔

🧡 Courtesy Post: Meet Marmalade! 🧡

I’m helping network this sweet girl in hopes of finding the right forever home.

This is Marmalade, a beautiful orange tabby who has had a rough few months. After being rescued from Animal Control, her caregiver had an adopter lined up, but unfortunately it fell through. Since then, she’s been waiting patiently for nearly three months while several other placement opportunities have also fallen through.

Marmalade is:
🐾 Spayed
🐾 Up to date on vaccinations
🐾 Negative for FIV/FeLV
🐾 A gentle, sweet girl who enjoys head and ear scratches

Right now she’s still very shy and spends much of her time hiding. She has experienced a lot of change and loss, including losing both of her kittens, so she’ll need someone willing to give her patience, love, and the time to decompress. I truly believe that once she feels safe, her personality will continue to blossom.

Crystal Hollow is full and can’t take Marmalade into our rescue at this time, but I’m happy to help connect interested adopters directly with her current caregiver.

If you think you might be the person to give this beautiful girl the loving home she deserves, please send me a private message here on FB, and I’ll put you in touch with her owner.

Please share to help Marmalade find the family she’s been waiting for. 🧡🐈
