Keep Cool and Carry On! Remember, while it is going to be super hot your air conditioner is going to struggle. Try to set it a little higher than normal to help it survive the gauntlet that is coming.

Construction progress continues on the DuPont Bridge Replacement Project as pile groups begin taking shape in East Bay.

While they may look like rows of concrete columns rising from the water, these piles are a critical part of the bridge’s foundation system and are strategically positioned based on engineering design.

Piles are driven deep beneath the bay bottom to transfer the weight of the future bridge structure into stable soils below. The grouped arrangement seen here is intentional, with each pile group serving as the foundation footprint for future bridge supports. Working together, these piles will help distribute loads from the bridge deck, traffic, wind, and environmental forces.

The $350 million DuPont Bridge replacement project includes constructing two new parallel bridges that will accommodate a total of four travel lanes (two eastbound and two westbound). The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2030.

The art of riding comes with responsibility.

Training, awareness and smart riding habits help protect everyone on Florida’s roadways. Whether you ride every day or simply share the road with motorcycles, safety starts with paying attention and making thoughtful decisions behind the wheel.

As Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month comes to a close, remember:

Motorcyclists’ safety is everyone’s safety.

June is National Safety Month, a reminder that preparation matters both on and off the road.

As summer travel increases and hurricane season begins, now is a good time to check the emergency supplies in your vehicle.

Consider keeping these essentials in your vehicle:

• Flashlight and extra batteries.
• Jumper cables.
• First aid kit.
• Drinking water and nonperishable snacks.
• Phone charger.
• Reflective triangles or safety vest.
• Rain gear and blankets.

A few minutes of preparation now can improve safety during the busy summer travel season.
