Progress advances on the DuPont Bridge Replacement project in eastern Bay County.
Crews have now installed 67 percent of the production piles, marking significant progress on the foundation for the new bridge. These reinforced concrete piles are driven deep below the bay floor to provide the strength and stability needed to support the bridge.
With more than two-thirds of the production piles complete, construction is shifting further into the next phase of foundation work. As pile groups are finished, crews can continue constructing the bridge footings, followed by columns and pier caps that will support the bridge spans above the water.
The DuPont Bridge Replacement project includes constructing two new parallel bridges that will accommodate a total of four travel lanes (two eastbound and two westbound). The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2030.
