The 6th Annual Millville Block Party
at 9th and Satsuma
ain’t just an event—
it’s a homecoming with a soundtrack.
**Meet me at the block party…**
where the old stories still live
and the new memories get made.
Down in the heart of the Old Orchard,
where the trees remember names
and the pavement still echoes bicycle tires,
grown folks pull up from every direction—
Atlanta, Mobile, Jacksonville,
around the corner and across the years.
Lawn chairs unfold like family history.
Somebody points and says,
“Girl, I know you!”
and suddenly forty years disappear
with one hearty hug and a laugh too loud to fake.
**Meet me at the block party…**
where cousins become kids again
and neighbors become family.
Stories rise like barbecue smoke—
about grandma’s porch,
Saturday fish fries,
corner stores, first loves,
and dancing till the streetlights blinked twice.
Now the music hits.
Old school sliding into new school.
Steppers stepping.
Kids watching aunties cut loose in the street.
Neighbors turning asphalt into soul.
**Meet me at the block party…**
where the bassline shakes loose memories
you forgot you still carried.
The food?
Listen…
plates stacked high with flavor and memory,
seasoned with fellowship
and passed hand to hand with love.
And while the crowd celebrates,
small businesses shine—
vendors hustling dreams,
selling culture, creativity, and community
one table at a time.
This is what unity looks like
when it puts on fresh clothes and comes outside.
This is what happens
when generations gather not just to remember,
but to recreate joy together.
**Meet me at the block party…**
at the corner of 9th and Satsuma,
in the heart of the Old Orchard,
where unity in the community
never looked so good.
