We seek resilience and engagement for 2e learners. We will affect change by working hand-in-hand with our education leaders and other community organizations.

We are a community group that seeks greater understanding of and attention to the needs of students who yearn for more intellectual, deeper engagement and whose cognitive and intellectual curiosities outpace typical patterns of development.

• For families: We offer an honest, open and empathetic network of support, guidance, and programs.
• For educators: We aim to support initiatives that help educators learn how to identify, understand and better meet the needs of these frequently misunderstood students.
• For students: We spearhead initiatives that will build resilience through more appropriate intellectual challenge and the opportunity to stretch and grow.

At REEL, we know that many twice-exceptional learners are also navigating ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning differences alongside their strengths. These differences are part of who they are, and with the right understanding and support, every child can thrive and grow into adults who contribute their talents to the world.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month, and we want our community to know there's somewhere to turn. We're sharing REEL's Crisis Guide, a resource to keep close that offers guidance, key terminology, how to respond, and where to find help in difficult moments.

Neurodivergent individuals face a higher risk of anxiety and depression, and we hear often from families in our community navigating a child's crisis. It can feel completely overwhelming: unfamiliar medical jargon, mental health options, a whole new world of support.

That's why we partnered with Joanna Lilley and Shayna Abraham, two leaders in the field whom our community has turned to in moments of crisis, to build this handbook for families.
