I had the honor of helping Girl Scout Troop 41082 earn their Senior Car Care badge. It was such a fun experience. Excellent work, girls! I'm proud of your achievement.

Winter weather can be tough on your wiper blades. The ice, snow and freezing cold really take a toll on them, so it’s a great idea to give them a quick check now that spring is here (hello, rainy days!). 🌧️

While you’re at it, don’t forget to check your windshield wiper fluid too. Nothing worse than running out right when you need it most.

Winter can be brutal on your vehicle’s tires. For every 10-degree drop in temperature, your tires can lose about 1 PSI of pressure. That might not sound like a lot, but it adds up fast.

When your tires are low, your gas mileage gets worse. Steering can feel heavier, stopping can take longer and you’re more likely to get a blowout.

My advice: Check your tire pressure regularly this spring. Pump them up to whatever the manufacturer recommends (it’s usually on a sticker inside the driver’s door or in your owner’s manual).

And while you’re at it:
• Check your spare tire (make sure it’s actually inflated).
• Make sure your jack, lug wrench, and wheel lock are all there and ready.
• If your spare is stored under the car, test the mechanism that drops it down. You don’t want to find out it’s stuck when you actually need it.

Take 5 minutes now so you’re not stranded later. Your car (and your future self) will thank you 💪💜🛞
