She was flipping around her house before she ever set foot in a gym. Gymnastics was always part of who Avery was.

Kids Wish Network brought her to the World Champions Centre to meet Simone Biles — and Avery walked out of that room a different kid.

"It doesn't seem real… it feels like it's a dream."

Winnie thought the cats were the surprise.

She was five years old, surrounded by soft paws and gentle purrs at Cattyshack Cat Cafe, eating decorated treats in a private room — and she was convinced this was the wish.

She was wrong.

Eight rounds of chemotherapy. A major surgery with complications. And through every single moment of it, Winifred kept smiling.

Brycen brought home a shirt signed by El Toro Loco after his first Monster Jam show.

Avery spent years fighting through serious health challenges, including multiple brain surgeries. Long hospital stays, setbacks, and seasons where just getting through the day took everything she had.

But through all of it, one thing never changed. She wanted to be a gymnast.

When she was finally cleared, she didn't ease into it – she ran toward it. Within a short time she was training and competing, and loving every second.

Kids Wish Network brought her to Houston to meet Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles at the World Champions Centre. And what happened there wasn't a quick photo and a handshake. They talked about training, goals, and what it takes to keep going. Avery opened up like she was talking to a friend.

"My favorite part was just getting to talk to her and hang out."

Her parents called it "core memory stuff." A day their family will talk about for the rest of their lives.

Cystic fibrosis and pancreatic insufficiency mean treatments, therapies, routines , all before the day can really begin.

Then his preschool teacher stood him up in front of his whole class and told him he was going to Monster Jam. His dream.

The pit party. Tires the size of walls. Grave Digger's fierce grin. El Toro Loco's wild horns. Drivers who let him stand close and lean in like he had always belonged there.

When the trucks launched into the stunts, his dad Austin was not watching the show.

We are heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch.

Kyle touched the lives of so many - including three children in our KWN family who will carry his kindness with them forever.

Christopher, who has cerebral palsy, received two lug nuts straight from Kyle's own racecar. Michael, who battles Crohn's disease, received a personal video from Kyle when illness kept him from traveling - and then got to meet him in person when he recovered. Michael Miller got to stand beside Kyle's M&M car at Talladega and smiled the entire weekend.

He didn't have to give any of that. He chose to. Every time.

Our deepest condolences to the Busch family. Rest easy, Kyle. 🏁
