Every Bark Counts I'm Austin, Founder of Every Bark Counts. I started at 6 yrs old raising money for animals in need as a 501C3. Buying supplies for the shelters & rescues.

🎆 Fireworks and pets don’t always mix. 🎆

Loud noises, flashing lights, and crowded celebrations can be stressful for our furry family members. As we head into the 4th of July weekend, here are a few ways to help keep pets safe:

🐾 Keep pets indoors during fireworks
🐾 Update ID tags and microchip information
🐾 Create a calm, quiet safe space
🐾 Make sure pets get plenty of exercise before festivities begin
🐾 Never bring anxious pets to fireworks displays

A little preparation can help make the holiday safer and less stressful for everyone. ❤️

Our shelter is currently at 130% capacity for dogs, and every adoption or foster placement helps us make room for another animal in need.

For today and tomorrow only, adoption fees are WAIVED! If you've been thinking about adding a furry family member, now is the perfect time to meet your new best friend.

Not ready to adopt? Fostering saves lives. Even opening your home temporarily helps us create much-needed kennel space for another dog.

💙 Meet W***y Watts — Our Longest-Term Resident 💙

W***y Watts has been waiting for his forever home since September 2025, making him our longest-term resident at Hernando County Sheriff's Office - Animal Services.

We can't understand why this goofy, lovable guy keeps getting overlooked. At 7 years old, W***y still has plenty of life, love, and laughter to share. He'll happily entertain you with his silly personality, squeaky toy obsession, and even his bilingual skills—he knows both Spanish and English!

W***y would do best in a home without cats and may prefer to be your one-and-only pup (or with the right canine companion). What he really wants is someone who will look past how long he's been here and see the amazing best friend waiting underneath.

Every day he watches other dogs leave for their forever homes. It's time for W***y to have his turn.
