The Barefoot Mailman Hike is an annual 35-mile, two-day, 1885-inspired, South Florida trekking event, primarily for Scouts, honoring early mail carriers. It runs from Pompano Beach to South Beach, challenging participants with a 2-day route, covering paved roads, beaches, and historic paths.
Purpose: Commemorates the original
“barefoot mailmen” (1885-1892) who walked and rowed between Palm Beach and Miami to deliver mail.
Route: Covers approximately 35 miles over two days, starting at East Atlantic Blvd and North Pompano Beach Blvd, concluding at South Beach, Miami.
Activities: Includes training hikes, packing skills, and, for some, walking the final mile barefoot, accompanied by a flag parade.

Scout Sunday 2026.

A scout is Reverent

Scouts from Troop 281, 4281, and Cub Scouts from Pack 3281 all gathered at our charter organization Trinity Presbyterian Church of Palm Coast to participate in worship and reflection on the shared values of service, leadership, and Duty to God that unite Scouting and the Church.

We are grateful to Trinity Presbyterian for their warm welcome and continued support of our Scouting programs.
