UPDATE: Nitro has been placed in a terrier specific rescue and we will no longer be handling his adoption. We currently do not know which rescue, we will update this post if and when we find out.

Meet Nitro 💙🐾

Nitro is a 4.5-year-old Boston Terrier looking for a calm, understanding home where he can feel safe and loved. He’s a sweet boy who enjoys sunbathing, squeaky toys, lounging around the house, and being close to his people. He’s crate-free in the home, sleeps happily in the bedroom or living room, and absolutely loves attention.

Like many dogs, Nitro has become uncomfortable around small children and would do best in an adult-only home or one with older kids who can respect his space and boundaries. He can get excited meeting new people (sometimes excited enough to do a little happy p*e 😅), but underneath it all is a loving companion who just needs the right environment to thrive.

Nitro deserves a home where he can relax, feel understood, and continue being the goofy little guy he is. If you think you could be the right fit for Nitro, please fill out an application on our website today.

Helping dogs find homes doesn't always mean fostering or adopting. Sometimes it means showing up at an event or helping keep things running behind the scenes. 🙌

Riley's Rescue of Brevard is always looking for volunteers, and we have roles for all kinds of people.

Merchandise Sales: Love talking to people? This role is a great fit if you enjoy meeting supporters at our events table, helping people find what they're looking for, handling sales, and sharing our story with the community.

Events Coordinator: If you're organized and love a good plan, this one's for you. You'd help find events to join, maintain our calendar, coordinate with vendors, and make sure every event runs smoothly from setup to pack-up.

No experience required. Just a big heart and a willingness to show up for dogs who need you.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country 🇺🇸❤️

As we spend time with family, friends, and the pets we love so dearly, we are especially grateful for the freedoms made possible by those who served and never made it home. Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
