Lambda’s May meeting included an excellent presentation and tour of facilities by Mrs. Heather Anderson, Director of STAY School and Transition Assistance for Youth-Paducah Public Schools’ Homeless Program. Awards and certificates from the 2025 State Convention were distributed to: Ruthie Wiles-Violet Award; Sharon Dirshimer-Sapphire Award; Vicki Gough accepted the Chapter’s Co-President Award, and Rhonda Johnston-participant in the Arts & Crafts display. Next up, the Longest Day. Happy Summer everyone!

Our March meeting was highlighted by a very informative presentation from two members of the Ballard-Carlisle Historical and Genealogical Society. Sally Boulton and Teresa Salonimer shared tips on exploring ones Family Tree and the resources available at the Society located in Wickliffe, KY.

Chapter President, Sharon Dershimer, and Rhonda Johnston, attended the KY Western District Fall Meeting in Benton, KY, Saturday, October 14th, 2023.

Thanks to KY Alpha Rho for being the “Hostess with the Mostest” for KY Western District’s Fall Meeting.

The meeting was held in the new Marshall County Children’s Art Center. Susi King, event coordinator for the center, presented a pictorial history of the center’s development.
Valera Brooks gave a pictorial presentation about the altruistic project, the Miracle League of Western Kentucky. Evan Darnall, local high school student pianist, was the guest entertainment; he is truly a virtuoso! A great catered lunch was enjoyed by all in attendance!

Gena Richardson, KY State President, presented milestone awards to four chapters in Western District. KY Kappa, KY Lambda, and KY Nu, all chartered in 1963, each received a Diamond Anniversary certificate. KY Alpha Rho, chartered in 1987, received a Sapphire Anniversary certificate.

Our best wishes go out to Lesley Eddins, KY Western District V-P, who could not be present due to health reasons. Rhonda Johnston, Immediate Past V-P, presided!

Few in number, but mighty in spirit, 13 KY Alpha Delta Kappa present and former members met to celebrate KY Lambda Chapter’s 60th Anniversary!

It was a joy to have Jane Miller, past International President; Gina Richardson, KY State President; former member, Shirley Jones; Barbara Turner, now living in Louisville; former State President, Sharon Dershimer, presiding; Linda Cope and Carol Ann Rudolph from KY Alpha Rho; and 6 other Lambda Chapter members who were in attendance.

Thanks to Renee Adams for putting together a great pictorial history that we were able to view during the party! Of course, nothing goes off without a glitch — some of the photos were sideways / upside down, due to some glitch with the TV and the thumb drive.

Thanks to one of the sous chefs at Jackson Oaks who has her own catering service! She provided lots of gustatory goodies that included a meat/cheese tray, fruit platter, and vegetable platter, along with an anniversary cake and decorations! Again, nothing without a glitch, food was later than expected in being there, but it all worked out!

A special guest, alias Pauline Chapter, showed up to give an oral history presentation of Lambda Chapter!

Truly an enjoyable, memorable day in the history of KY Lambda Chapter!
