The Friends of the Library June Book Sale starts today! 🎉

Doors open at 10 AM at Sharp Park Library and remain open until 5 PM today. The sale continues tomorrow from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Browse a wide selection of heritage books, DVDs, and fiction and nonfiction titles covering more than 40 subjects.

📚 Head to the Sharp Park Library this weekend for the Pacifica Friends of the Library June Book Sale!

Join us Friday, June 5 from 10 AM – 5 PM and Saturday, June 6 from 10 AM – 4 PM to browse beautiful heritage books, DVDs, CDs, and plenty of fiction and non-fiction across 40+ subjects.

All proceeds benefit San Mateo County Libraries' programming.

LA County Librarian and Director Dr. Skye Patrick and Long Beach Public Library Director Cathy de Leon will join actor, author, and activist George Takei, author of They Called Us Enemy, for a discussion on the experiences that inspired his memoir, what it means to be a good neighbor and citizen in challenging times, and how shared stories can help build stronger communities.

Want to join the largest book club on the West Coast?

San Mateo County Libraries is linking up with library systems across California, Washington and Oregon for 'One Book, One Coast.'

We are collectively reading George Takei's graphic novel They Called Us Enemy, a groundbreaking memoir that illustrates his extraordinary, courageous story of being forcibly incarcerated with his family as a young child due to Executive Order 9066. Unlimited digital copies are available on the Libby app for San Mateo County Libraries cardholders—no holds or wait times required.

One Book, One Coast, will conclude with a virtual author talk featuring George Takei on Sunday, May 31, from 2:00-4:00 PM.
